At my arrival I got upgraded for free to a 2 bed dorm, that was perfect!!! Thanks for that! I loved the dorm, it was big enough for 2 persons, and very cosy, with a big window and a nice view to the garden. The hostel is nice and small, with a nice atmosphere. Because there was staying a big... More

My stay here was slightly unplanned; due to a horrific experience in a different hostel I moved here and it turned my remaining holiday around. Beautiful garden out the back, incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff (Jethro in particular). Quiet and friendly environment, couldn't want or expect any more from a hostel.

Stayed here one night, good kitchen and bathroom facilities. Everywhere clean and tidy. Bedrooms a good size. Lovely garden and outdoor area. Bit if a walk into town but great spot for a run/walk around the Waikareao Estuary. Parking out the front. Great friendly welcome and service from staff. I would recommend it for you're stay in the eastern Bay... More

This was definitely my favourite of the three YHA’s I stayed at in NZ. (YHA Tauranga, YHA Taupo, YHA Wellington) It was hands down the best of the three. Clean and tidy, lovely gardens and outdoor area. Common room and kitchen were modern and well maintained. Bathrooms were always clean and offer separate female and male bathrooms which other YHA’s... Stayed here for one night for the jazz festival, I found the facilities kinda worn down for a YHA hostel but it was reasonably clean and maintained. Hotel staff was friendly and offered assistance in finding the concert grounds and other things to do for a first timer in the city of Tauranga.

Our double room was very comfortable and facilities were great. Gardens were nice and we took advantage of the BBQ! Walking distance into town and short drive to Mt Maunganui. Lynn, the manager, was knowledgable about local activities and helped us out with planning our further trip.

I stayed at this hostel for two nights. It was just ok. It was reasonably clean and well maintained but as a hostel in general it was nothing to write home about. The hostel was quite drab and in need of a makeover.

We stayed for one night - we would have longer, as the hostel is so cosy and Tauranga pretty. We had to leave though, to survive highway no2, which is awful for cycling on weekends, let alone during the week with trucks... Back to the hostel: we expected to be really far from everything, but one has just to walk... More

Such a cozy hostel with an amazing backyard. Spent 3 nights there, whilst volunteering near Tauranga. Location is a bit far from the CBD, but grab their map and check out the shortcut to Wharf St down Spring St (double check, I might be wrong!) The hostel was so comfy, and things in Tauranga close quite early, I spent a... More
