Home from Home Stay is cozy, charming, and has a fantastic view of the hills of Island Bay. Joy and Martin couldn't be more lovely, and they had great suggestions about sites and restaurants. Easy walk down to the bus and very easy ride into central Wellington. As a solo traveler, I felt very well cared for and very welcomed.

Beautiful newly renovated property a couple of miles from Wellington centre (there is a bus nearby or taxis into town cost around NZ $23). If you have a car there is parking.
