Recommended hotel on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. The hotel charming & most of all welcoming. Breakfast delicious, the hippopotamus cocktail bar enchanting. The bathrooms huge, however we found the bedroom a little cramped although there was lots of wardrobe space. We chose a room which overlooked the waterfront. We will definitely stay there again.

Hotel was very pleasant & there was so much to take in with the decor & art. The rooms were spacious, had a kitchen including a coffee machine, iPod dock, deep bath & great pillows. Location is a bonus across from Te Papa & close to plenty of eateries. I'm looking forward to staying again soon for a Wellington weekend.

Had a weekend in Wellington with friends and stayed at the Museum again, really happy, good service and easy place to walk the town from. Recommend the rooms at the front of the hotel, little bit noisy but fantastic for a drink watching the harbour as the sun sets. The Sunday market across the road is a bit of fun... More

Ok, its not the cheapest place in town. But still very resonable if you get a weekend deal stay like we did. The staff are pleasent and helpful. There is parking for cars (A plus in Wellington) we had a room that ovverlooked the waterfront and the weekend market. Walking distance to great cafes, the museum and art galleries and... More

I enjoy going to the Museum Hotel on work trips. It makes the monotony of staying in a new hotel each night bearable. The residential suites are nice and roomy if you can get them. However, mine smelled like cooking oil. A hazard of having a kitchen in the room I guess. iPod docks are a nice touch.

Just back from a lovely weekend away with my wife. We've stayed at the Museum Hotel before, with children, but enjoyed it much more this time :-) There was more opportunity to enjoy the wonderful art and all the special touches that make this such a unique place to stay. We booked a 1 bedroom suite, which was spacious and... More

Stayed 2 nights. We were housed on the residential side in a generous sized single space apartment complete with kitchenette (washer drier, dishwasher mini bar the lot) Wi-fi included. Room was comfortable and quiet. The hotel gym includes a lap pool and spa which are a welcome facility after a day trailing around the Wellington sights. The hotel public areas... More

My family and friends booked 5 rooms throughout the hotel. The 2 bedroom suite we had on the top floor was by far the best. 4 Floors up, overlooking wellington waterfront and Te Papa museum. 2 lovely bedrooms, 1 with the biggest bathroom you could imagine. The kitchen lounge & dining area were really comfortable. Be careful with children on... More

I look forward to welcoming you again. Glad you enjoyed yourselves, and appreciated what we have to offer. Next time try our pool and gym complex. We think it's about as good as it gets for a small hotel. Again, thanks for your comments. More

I quite like the distinctive and confident personality of this hotel. The lobby is not brightly lit and has an eclectic mix of colours, patterns and artworks in different media. There is a bar downstairs and upstairs a high end French restaurant, which featured a bit too much sheep's brains for our taste. Nonetheless we enjoyed the Museum Art Hotel... More

Overall my stay was dissapointing and I will not be back. The hotel is not as clean as I hoped and very average. There is some art in the lobby but other than that it wasn't worth it. The reception desk doubles as the bar and conceiage, the Internet is slow, and the staff dumping trash in the morning was... More
