The hotel is a great location in the city centre and within walking distance of quite a few sightseeing sites, shopping, and restaurants. The room was nice and had a comfortable bed. The room could have used a little more decoration, just seemed a bit dull.

Excellent location, walking distance to downtown shopping, so many attractions like the waterfront, Cuba Street, Parliament, and even a New World Metro grocery.Three people in a standard room containing a single bed and a queen, old fashioned small tv with only 5 stations. Room was clean and comfortable. What made us appreciate this hotel and want to return when we... More

We spent 4 nights at the Abel Tasman, found we could walk to museums, waterfront and restaurants. Hotel probably needs a little update, but staff were friendly and it's location makes it a good base when visiting Wellington.

We stayed with our 4 year old and 6 month old. The room was a good size, could comfortably fit a single, a king and a portacot. Furnishing is nice, but room a little dated. Staff were welcoming and accomodating. Great service. Location was fab, 10 minute walk to te papa, 5 minute walk to lots of places to eat,... More

Staff were very friendly and helpful with directions and advice. Room was large with a double bed and 2 singles; airy and comfortable. There is also a microwave oven and mini-fridge which was great. A large numbers of towels were provided and the shower was clean and the shower worked! The hotel is very central to attractions in Wellington and... More

Had a lovely weekend here, everything was clean, staff helpful. Easy to get to shops and other attractions from here. Good value. I agree that the bathrooms need extractor fans as previous reviewers state. Would stay again. Room was a good size and bed comfy, presented well.

We stayed here for two nights while attending a football game at Westpac Stadium. It was easy to find from the bus from the airport and service when we arrived was excellent. Parking is available but costs $20 a night and is limited. Rooms were well set up even having plungers and coffee included. On the downside there is no... More

Making a last minute booking and needing to be in a particular part of town can sometimes lead you to making choices you otherwise may not have made. In this instance it lead me to a very friendly and warm hotel right near the centre of town. It is not the newest or the most spacious but it is good... More

Got a good price, convenient to everything in town. Two blocks from Cuba street nightlife and three from the CBD. Only downsides: 1/ No air con or heating in the room ( they provided an electric heater !!!! ) 2/ Restaurant breakfast is expensive ($25) 3/ Internet is expensive ($25/day) If you get an all in rate it is good... Lovely hotel right in the middle of Wellington. Clean, simple rooms with everything you need. I guess if you are used to very flash hotels it may not be you thing but we absolutely loved it! Great staff. Huge bathroom, comfortable bed and 5 min walk to Cuba st. Excellent value for money. Will definitely stay again.
