We stayed here on our first night on the rail trail (March 4 2013). Bruce and Esme could not have been more helpful and let us have our choice of rooms. The spa was brilliant for our aching muscles, and the hospitality over the road at the pub was great too. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable, wicked shower and tasty... More

Due to a big booking in school itself, we were placed in the cottage...5 beds for 3 of us with a kitchen fully stocked for all our breakfast needs!! Perfect hosts and great location...didn't get to check out spa pool though as fatigue got to us 1st! Highly recommended!

Lauder School House B&B is a perfect example of wonderful small town New Zealand. Such a relaxed place, welcoming people and beautiful location. Bruce and Esme were always on hand to answer queries and chat. The buildings are well decorated and themed. Fab lounge area where bikers all spent time talking and reading and watching TV. Had our best meal... More

A great place to stay and feel welcomed if you are in the Lauder area! We were warmly welcomed by Bruce, warm showers and super tasty cookies. We stayed in the detention shed and it gave us a great nights sleep before a bid day riding. We had dinner at the Lauder hotel, the food was great and it was... More

I had a very special time staying here on the 11/2. I was welcomed by Bruce, who very nicely made me a cup of coffee. He is a delightful man to converse with. Esme was lovely and they were both accommodating. The place had a wonderful feel to it and I had the best night sleep. I had dinner at... More

This was an excellent spot to spend the night with our group of 8 while doing the rail trail. Located directly across the road from the trail. 4 kids and 4 adults had plenty of space to unwind and relax after a hot and dusty day on the rail trail. The cottage was incredibly clean and very well appointed. We... More

Stayed with my wife in the "Sports Shed", nice clean and comfy bed. Restroom and shower were clean with new furnishings. Bruce and Esme were great hosts, we had a great chat with them and learned a little bit about the local area. This was the perfect place to stop after doing 30 miles on the Rail Trail, and we'd... A great place to rest up in readiness for new year celebrations. Bright, airy, clean and welcoming. Memories of school days flood back with premises that have been faithfully and carefully restored. Anyone interested in local history will find a bonus in the photos and stories (in books and from the hosts Esme and Bruce)

Stayed in the converted old school "detention shed" a 2 bedroom with small kitchenette and bathroom. Well set up with comfortable beds. However because it is a converted old building you have to go through one of the bedrooms to get to the bathroom & kitchen - or you can go via the two outside doors - but still enjoyed... More

New Year's Eve stopover whilst biking the Central Otago Rail Trail. Enjoyed wonderful hospitality from Bruce and Esme. Our twin room had adjoining toilet and shower which was a bonus. The main school room was a comfortable place to chat and relax.
