We travel extensively and as an Australian I can honestly say this is a lovely hotel with helpful staff. Lovely linen on the beds with flatscreen TVs and plenty of space, which means excellent value for money. We thought the eco touch was responsible and helping our planet, even though it may be helping ever so slightly. Why have some... More

Don't be fooled by their website metatag which reads "Luxury Accomodation Blenheim". There nothing at all above average about this joint - except their restaurant prices. And it looks so pretty in the photos, but parts of it are still being done up. Our bathroom was old and scruffy with mouldy grouting. And because they are have some kind of... More

Thank you for your review of the Chateau Marlborough Hotel and the direct corrospondence we have had regarding your concerns. It is unfortunate that the light glare from the ecobulbs was uncomfortable for you, it is not a complaint we have previously encountered however I do appreciate that your discomfort is the subject of personal sensitivity. The eco bulbs are... More

I booked using the hotel's website to stay one night over Easter on our way home from Nelson to Christchurch. On arrival, the hotel didn't appear to be too busy, and the service was adequate. However, when we checked into our room, we found we had been given a room with only one queen bed, not a queen and single... More

Thank you for your feedback. We would have, and still would appreciate, direct contact with management regarding this issue to ensure we would be able to rectify it, as please be assured this is not the manner in which we handle guest problems. I do hope we have the opportunity to discuss this with you further. Kind regards Lynley McKinnon More

Stayed in The Grande one bedroom suite, Lots of room & comfortable, Service was lacking and room cleanliness was only average. I think the receptionist was finishing her shift when we checked-in as she basicly tossed us the keys an pointed in the direction of the room. Went to check out and I think she forgot to come back as... More

No idea why this is a boutique hotel as it was very average.Given room downstairs at first, quite close to the footpath, no net curtains, felt like a goldfish bowl. Moved us upstairs on request. Reception staff very helpful. Blenheim a dull place with nothing much to see. More suited to business people who just want to get some work... More

Stayed on a busy weekend for the hotel and while everyone was friendly I suppose I just expected more. Rooms were very clean, the bathroom was a big disappointment, one of the rooms that friends stayed in had no hot water which was a hassle but we put up with it, however no hot water again in the morning was... Thank you for your feedback. After investigating this hot water issue, it was ascertained that an adjoining room had flooded the bathroom resulting causing this problem. After this investigation I have contacted this reviewer and we have reached a mutually agreeable compensation. Lynley Mckinnon General Manager More

We were very pleased with our room and delighted to have a nice little kitchenette with microwave and sink. The beds were comfortable and the bath towels were lovely and big. It was good to have 2 easy chairs (we found quite a few good hotels who nevertheless only provide one plus a desk chair) We did however feel we... More

We had to move room because of the lift & reception noise. The room had been repainted and some upgrading but the shower room left a lot to be desired. We were also woken by alarm at 4am. It was central to Blenheim but town was a bit dull but the countryside around pleasant and Wither Hills Vineyard very enjoyable.
