Overpriced, very noisy room on a main road opposite the reception. Staff unfriendly and unhappy. Advertised as a twin room, in fact was a bunk. Overall experience was really not a good one. Avoid this place unless you have no other choice and you are desperate.

I stayed only for one night at this place. I liked it. This place is close to the last stop of Intercity coach. Also it's walkable distance to some nice restaurants and bars. I walked around this hostel. It's in a pretty neighborhood. The kitchen need some upgrade. The lounge or seating area is nice to relax, read and browse... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights after landing in CC to get over the flights. It gave us time to acclimate and can say for sure that it is great place for that. You are within walking distance of CBD and Hagley Park, both must sees whilst in CC. Yes it is basic, but we stayed in campsites... More

Stayed here for one night- worst hostel/hotel I stayed at in NZ and I spent 20+ days travelling around the country. Overall it was run down, durty with unfriendly staff. Kitchen was dirty and old, only a couple of bathrooms (also very run down and old), not very friendly people at reception, at least a 10 min walk to shops/restaurants,... More

The best thing about the place is the bus that takes you AWAY from it.Nothing remotely Kiwi about this place, its run by greedy, mercenary people, and the staff:by their own admission ex-druggies from Scotland.....

Stayed here for 2 nights in December. Good aspects are that the hostel is easily reached by the number 29 bus from Christchurch International Airport or you may be able to make their free shuttle service depending on when you arrive. However, the kitchen is not very clean and the two Scottish women working there are rather grumpy. People go... More

I actually stayed at this place in December 2011, but for some reason I can't go any further, so I apologise. I went to Christchurch as previously stated in December 2011 late at night, arrived, buzzed and the person in charge (from memory I think she's Irish) let me in, I showed my paperwork and was shown my room, which... Beautiful hostel, tonnes of character and a great standard of cleanliness, love and care in everything these guys do. Simple delights to be enjoyed like home made bread every morning with a selection of butter, jams and Vegemite!! Premo! Best to enjoy it out side in the sun as it rises. The owner plays in a sexy little bar (wunderbar)... More

Stayed here a few nights and it was all decent but not mind-blowing. Fresh baked bread in the morning was the best part. We stayed in a double room and it was fine for our needs. The pillows were thin and flimsy but the bed itself was comfy. If you're not picky, you won't go wrong staying here. The Wi-Fi... More

Stayed here for one night and took their complementary transport to hostel. Chris the owner himself drove me to his hostel. After checking in , he showed me around his great hostel. Great place to stay with kitchen and clean rooms and toilet. Also walking distance to Botanical Gardens. As I had a early morning flight to Sydney, they booked... More
