There's not much choice for hotels in Christchurch since the earthquake this place is an old motel that has been upgraded by the looks of it the beds are comfy and the location is great if you have caught the train from Picton or Greymouth ( about a 10 min walk) More

Plenty of space for a solo business trip; bed is very comfy after 30h travelling from UK. Big TV with plenty of channels, kettle for coffee in the morning and early 7am breakfast is good when you need to head off. Hotel has plenty of places to eat nearby and has free parking which is good if you're renting a... More

The good points - off street parking in a busy neighbourhood. Staff seemed courteous. the bed was big enough for 2. It had 2 cups and a kettle. bad point No 1- we were booked in as a couple and both our names were on the booking sheet (pre-booked in Dec 2011). Although it had kettle and toaster it had... More

The hotel is kept clean enough. Rooms are quite small. With the Christchurch downtown closed off, Riccarton is probably now the most 'happening' area, and this hotel is near some food options. If you're a business traveler, you probably need to be online. Internet is notoriously expensive in NZ, but this hotel's Internet is expensive even compared with NZ hotels.... More

I stayed there for 1 night the good things - helpful staff, microwave and toaster in the room, free internet and now, the bad things - 1. the staircase is very stiff and there is no elevator, it was a bad experience carrying the luggage 2. the bathroom tap water was dirty 3. the rooms look good but are cramped... First impression weren't great. Looks like a motel. Rooms are small but comfortable. Front door is a patio door and if your on the ground floor doesn't feel too safe, although it is extremely safe in New Zealand so nothing to worry about. The location is ok, close to restaurants and bars. You would need a car if staying here... More

This was an average hotel. The check-in staff weren't particularly friendly but not rude either. The bed was comfortable, but I didn't like the large set of outdoor steps up which I had to lug baggage. Our unit got extremely hot on a sunny day and then sunny morning which wasn't comfortable. More

Stayed on a one nighter. rooms have been refurbed with a paint and some obvious new appointments. Clean 'box like' accommodation. Would still need to improve to command equal value for money. Any more than a weekend here and the faults list would grow. Vanities and mirrors out of an older era and show deferred maintainence. Service pleasant, bar prices... More

We stayed there after a long haul jouney. We met with friendly greeting and warm welcome. Room was clean and reasonable at the price we paid. We were happy with that and had a quiet night sleep. It's very close to the shopping mall and restautrants. It's a comfortable walk to the park and the centre of the city which... More

I am choosing this hotel since it has received a relatively good feedback provided by Tripadvisor. But the fact is, I am rather disappointed with their service (Unfriendly and Rude ) Most of the peoples from New Zealand are nice, but definitely not this one ! I guess most they are not the local here. most of them look like... More
