Bed and breakfast in well appointed period accommodation . Living area, lounge etc was very spacious and welcoming however the bedroom/ensuite was quite limited in space. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Several restaurants within walking distance however we travelled to Merivale to our favourite 'Tuti Benne' More

From the moment we arrived and checked in to the time we departed we felt part of the family! Noni greeted us, made us breakfast and recommended evening meals. She is an assett to the company. A Very classic building full of history and so warm and welcoming we would recommend it highly. More

We stayed at the Classic Villa for 3 days and can only recommend it. Very close to the city centre (or what is left unfortunately) and with very frienly and supportive hosts. Breakfast is good and you have a place to park your car. The rooms are very nice. More

In a World of formulaic hotels and motels, you can usually anticipate exactly what a property will be like, from the greeting at reception to the fold on the toilet paper. I'm pleased to say that The Classic Villa is not a bland 'vanilla' experience! From meeting the same staff each day, to complimentary sherry and port in the evening,... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our night there. Great host (Peter?), breakfast area, location, etc. Old home tastefully restored and decorated. Each room is different. More

We used the Classic Villa as our first choice in Christchurch, The George, was fully booked. It is centrally located right on the edge of Christchurch's still closed Red Zone city centre. There is a good choice of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and is a steady 20 minute drive to the airport. The property is split into... More

It felt like home walking in the door. This b & b is located half a block from the beautiful botanical gardens and down the street from downtown area. Breakfast was a huge variety of fruits, cereals, rolls, meats, juices, etc. The hosts were very pleasant and accomodating. A warm living room area and outdoor area. They even helped me... More

Stayed for one night. Pros: - Quite nice colonial style refurbished villa, nice atmosphere - Very friendly managers, keen to assist by being proactive - Centrally located, quite convenient if visiting the city center - Free internet, although not quite reachable from the rooms located far away from the main lobby Contras: - Rooms look a bit tired - Breakfast... The Villa was very quaint and comfortable! The hostess at the time we were there (in November), Nonni, was extremely friendly and accomodating. She was also very helpful in providing suggestions to eat and explore around Christchurch and the surrounding areas that were not impacted by the earthquake. The food was delicious and nutritious. The cheese selection was great, though... More

The owner was fantastic! He cooked a beautiful breakfast and was super flexible in terms of our check out time when we asked for a late checkout. The location is great, wifi is complimentory and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The Classic Villa is definitely a place we would recommend in Christchurch! More
