We were unable to arrive on our scheduled date, but the hotel was very good about accommodating us. They also allowed us a later checkout time and stored our luggage until our late evening flight. Very clean and updated room. Walking distance to Speight's, Cadbury, and all that the beautiful city of Dunedin has to offer.

The place is in the good location which you can walk to town center withing 5 minutes. The room is big and comfortable according to the price. The restaurant in the hotel called Jimmy is the great place to eat; great environment and great food.

We booked online through the hotel website, which offered add ons at a very reasonable price. The rooms were clean tidy and modern. Staff were helpful and friendly offering advice on places to eat. Couldn't belive how close to the Octagon we were! Really enjoyed our stay and will visit again as our Daughter starts uni in July.

Location, location, location. Nice and central to the city. We walked to the Speights tour etc from here. There was some maintenance (banging on the wall) happening though in the afternoon, so an afternoon kip after a long drive was out of the question. Also the jug shot blue sparks but we informed staff. No dramas at all really.

Kingsgate is a friendly well located hotel for walking into the main bar/restaurant area of Dunedin with an excellent breakfast. We stayed three nights and were happy with everything. Bathroom was a little tired but no complaints given the price

Nice clean hotel with good location on site parking rooms a good size and staff friendly and helpfull a bit dated but still well worth staying at its on top of a steep hill so not ideal for elderly but road path way is not as steep as access from car park.
