We just love The Brothers! Rod is an excellent host, the building is charming, the service is great and the location ideal. We will surely be back! More

We arrived in time to have a glass of wine with our welcoming host, Rod. Our room, though compact (it was once a monastery after all!), was very comfortable and perfect to enjoy a few days of sightseeing in Dunedin. After a delicious breakfast, Rod recommended places to visit and things to do to make the most of our limited... More

We have stayed at The Brothers a couple of times and thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a friendly, warm, welcoming place to stay while in Dunedin. It is close to the shops and restaurants so you do not have to drive, the view is wonderful, and the welcome when you arrive is very friendly. More

Loved the atmosphere of this lovely B&B! Rod is an awesome host! What a delight to visit with Rod over a glass of wine or a beer and we were grateful for the inside scoop on sights we otherwise may have missed. Excellent breakfast included as well as free internet...both a REAL plus! Perfect location and impeccably clean. Small room,... More

This was a one night stop whilst touring New Zealand. Very well located and with a top floor room with a huge shared balcony, the views were brilliant. Very nice owner who made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was very good. Free internet access was a bonus for keeping in touch with family back home. Highly recommended. More

The hotel is situated in the center of duniden, 5 minutes away from the octagon. Our room was upgraded to a top floor unit which have a fantastic view over the city. Breakfast was basic but sufficient. The host is very friendly! Would certainly recommend this to all! More

We chose this hotel because it offered something with a little more character than the ubiquitous city hotel, and we were not disappointed. Our room was small (which we knew when we booked) but very comfortable and well appointed., The delightful guest lounge with free internet access, great views and a glass of wine at 5pm more than made up... Perhaps it was the ghost of the kitchen maid wheezing in the chimney all night, perhaps it was the holy spirit of the original Christian Brothers, perhaps it was just the brisk Scottish Dunedin air. But it didn't stop us have a heavenly good night's sleep- I actually thought it was the sound of the sea.( But that was the... More

We stayed for 2 nights during Jan 2012 and had a wonderful experience. We had a very warm welcome and were introduced to the city and its surroundings by the very knowledgeable stuff. Breakfast was plenty and delicious - we need nothing more than fresh fruits, muesli and a yoghurt. The room was tidy and as we stayed on the... More
