The hotel room had a great feature - 2 entrances. One is to the carpark where you can park your car right outside your room, the other is into the intermal corridor within the hotel. It is next door to the race course but is more than a walk from the center of town so a car is neccessary. The... More

Would recommend this hotel. We stayed for a night, the four of us two adults and two teenagers. We had a one room unit which was very tidy and warm. We dined at the restaurant at the hotel and it was the best meal out that we had had for a long time. Presentation was great and plenty of food... More

My husband and I arrived around 9pm one evening between Christmas and New Year, travel weary from Christchurch and without a booking, and were warmly welcomed at reception, and offered an excellent deal for a very nice hotel room. Even better, the restaurant was still open, and the bar served light meals through til 10pm so we didn't have to... More

We were very happy with this hotel, which we stayed in halfway through a trip around Otago and Southland. Having had to share a double bed in Queenstown, our teenagers were very happy to have a double sofabed each, while we had a queensized bed (plus a single) in a separate room. Spa bath, shower, dining table and chairs, kitchen... More

The Ascot Park Hotel is located on the outskirts of Invercargill - a 5 minute drive from the centre - and is situated in its own park-like grounds. There is plenty of parking and there is a particular place handy to each room which makes it easy to transfer luggage from car to room and back. We were warmly welcomed... More

The hotel room we stayed in was quite new. The hotel is a short drive away from the city centre. When I checked in, the front desk lady wasn't really friendly. I was waiting for quite sometime since she was talking on a phone for a long time. After almost 10mins waiting, another gentleman came and checked me in. She... More

The hotel is located far from the centre of Invercargill in its own grounds. I received a warm welcome from the duty manager, who described the hotel facilities and showed me the restaurant, bar, and layout of the hotel on the way to the room, which was large, comfortable, and clean. The bar and restaurant were inviting and all the... More

There don't seem to be many options here in Inverargill but we were very happy with this hotel. We had a huge apartment-style room which was very comfortable. We ate one night in the bar and the other in their restaurant and, if anything, the meal in the bar was more comfortable. They have a small but functional swimming pool... More

If you are traveling South Island New Zealand, do not afford to miss this little town of Invercargill. It has much to offer in itself and can act as a stop over to Stewart Island, Dunedin or to the famous queenstown. Ascot Park Hotel is nice highway property with Hotel and motel rooms both on offer.
