Everyone was friendly and helpful, the hostel is clean and spacious (and there's free soup at 6pm!) and the beds are clean and comfy. Good location for seeing what Queenstown has to offer, bit of a con having a steep hill to walk up but it's totally worth it when you get there. Home away from home, really hated leaving!

Nice staff, good and clean facilities. We stayed in a small dorm of 4 people, it was nice. The city centre is just a 5 min. walk away from the hostel. Nice garden and with that comes a chance to hang outside. Liked alot!

I've stayed in more backpackers than I can remember but this is one of the best so far. I arrived in Queenstown with only a couple of days before New Year's Eve 2012 and no surprise I couldn't find any accommodation. I had just driven for 4 days and my luck had run out. I was starting to think my... More

We didn't plan to stay in Queenstown, but it happened that we had to spend one night there. We have chosen Bungi Backpackers since it was recommended by Lonely Planet and they had an available double room. The staff was very friendly and nice with us. They gave us a lot of good hints and towels without any payment. However... More

I couldn't sleep because of the noise and people drinking all night. It was cheap but I'd rather avoid it next time. Bathrooms were disgusting, the beds were OK but the kitchen was a mess most of the time. I did speak to a few guests who were friendly but also found the hostel awful. I guess you get what... More

Bungi backpackers lies pretty central, just 5 minutes from the town centre and the lakeshore. If you're going by foot, you'll need to climb a steep hill before getting there. Not very surprising, this is new zealand after all! :) The backpackers was REALLY crowded. If you're staying at Bungi, be prepared for sleepless nights. Every guest will go out... More

Stayed here for two night. Very cheap price $23 per night. Room was very untidy, dirty and smelly. Room was and out house from main building and very noisy and nights and cold whilst sleeping. The lounge area, kitchen and bathrooms are all dirty. Home location only 5minute walk into town.

Didnt like the hostel but really liked the staff, we stayed for 5 nights, didnt sleep very well at all as the other guests were up all hours shouting and giggling. Its not that clean either, but its a prime example of where backpackers work for free accommodation. I have mixed feelings about this place though...the people were great :)

To stay here you must be a really heavy sleeper and bring earplugs. If you don't mind dirty bathrooms, dirty kitchens, people up at all hours of the night (4am), and rude/drunk/rowdy backpackers, then Bungi is the perfect place for you. We should have known when it had the cheapest double room in town. We woke up at 4am and... More

Me and my girlfriend wanted to do some snowboarding in Queenstown and pretty much needed a bed for the night, nothing more or less. We generally had a pleasant stay at the backpackers, we were expecting a double bedroom inside the complex but we found out we where outside in a unit, best described as a shed. Never the less...
