Booked over the internet and got a good rate and one of our party required a disabled room there was no way to say this in the booking request. Then on checkin the disabled room turned out to not be one - mistake on the hotel which they rectified. Our other room was in a completely diffrent part of the... More

We stayed at the Copthorne on a Travelzoo deal...excellent value at $99 a night for a Superior Lakeview Hotel Room. The name of the room was misleading as there was no view from the room. To avail ourselves of the limited view we had to go out onto a side verandah which was almost on the street. In spite of... More

We stayed at the Copthorne for 3Ns in April. Our room had a beautiful aspect with natural light, opening windows, lovely view of the lake and was located on the minor street with reduced street noise. The king bed was nice and firm but the comfort was compromised because we could feel the wires of the electric blanket under the... More

Many thanks for your comments recently posted, glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Most of our rooms are shower over bath and fully understand your concerns over this. We will look into providing towel rails to the rooms that dont have them. I will pass on your kind comments on our staff. More

We stayed there for a couple of days and enjoyed our stay. Our request for a room with good view was fulfilled. The room was quite spacious with balcony. Experience with receptionist and duty manager was great. Hotel environment in general is very good. Only few minutes walk to shops, restaurants and lake. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. More

My partner and I stayed here leading up to and through Easter and found the room and hotel to be very nice and fresh. We payed extra for a balcony room and the view of the lake and remarkables was very nice, even from the bed. We also had trouble finding our room (the manager originally pointed us to the... More

I usually stay somewhere a bit more 'flash' when in Queenstown but we knew we wouldn't be in the room much so shopped around and found a great rate with the Copthorne. $129 a night for a twin room (two double beds) including free drink (which we didn't redeem) and carparking. Its definitely nothing flash, we had a little giggle... More

We can only grade this hotel on our experience which began when we were upgarded to a lakeview suite - perhaps having booked so far in advance. Although not always easy to find rooms, we found the accommodation first class, with a stunning view of the lake and The Remarkables, an excellent shower and a prompt and helpful response from... The Copthorne is tired, the staff, rooms, food, it is all tired. We stayed here for 2 nights, we had stayed here almost a decade earlier and it was ok then, but now, seriously someone needs to get in there and give it a good shake up. How hard would it be to paint the doors that have chip marks... More
