I don't understand why this accommodation was ranked so high by others. To be fair I don't have experience staying in other places at Te Anau but I did visit other towns in the South Island (eg Dunedin & Christchurch) where I could get a nicer holiday house and pay less. Our extended family of 7 enjoyed 2 nights here in January. The house is really well set up for families and groups and has plenty of outdoor space as well. Our extended family of 7 were very comfortable on the Fjordland Cottage during some rainy days, found the kitchen and laundry excellently equipped, 2 showers invaluable and beds very comfortable. The owners were very helpful and friendly and it suited us to be in a quiet area but only a short walk to the town centre. Highly recommended. Karin, Melbourne.

We stayed 3 nights and the facilities were excellent. Tinny was extremely helpful and booked a cruise for us to Doubtful Sound that was memorable. It was good to have internet and plenty of TV channels. It is a little out of town but that is a plus as it is very quiet.
