We have just returned from a week touring in the South Island of NZ. Two nights were spent at Dock Bay Lodge with the lovely Dawn and Mark. Nothing was too much trouble for Dawn, she was always bright and ready to answer any questions that we had. Dawn had many suggestions for our days and nights - our problem... More

Thank you for your kind words. It is important to us that you make the most of your time in Fiordland and as you say two nights really isn't enough to see and do everything you would like. We get a lot of pleasure seeing our guests come home having spent a fantastic day doing the trips we have recommended. More

Dock Bay is the lovely home of Dawn and Mark Dowling, and the real star of the show, their dog Colin. Their home is located a bit out of town, adjacent to a golf course, and along a quiet country road. It was only a short drive to town (5-10 minutes), and we enjoyed being away from the bustle of... Our review is long overdue, as we stayed 2 nights with Dawn and Mark in February, 2010. This lodge is fabulous in every way......the suites are gorgeous - every detail done to the max, including the bedding, furniture, fabrics, bathrooms, balconies/patios, etc. When we arrived we had the place to ourselves and we were treated like family. Dawn and Mark... More

We spent 3 nights in the Suite referred to as the honeymoon suite which had the best views over the golf course and lake, plus it was very spacious and with a good usable balcony. Our hosts Dawn and Mark were most welcoming and helpful, a real pleasure to deal with. We took advantage of the golf, using their complimentary... More

I think this is the loveliest property we have ever stayed in. It was a highlight during our driving tour of the South Island March 2011. We decided to splash out for something really different, and this place certainly is. Our welcome by Dawn was friendly, and she offered us a larger suite downstairs, rather then the suite we booked.... More

Our trip to the Te Anau area was absolutely wonderful and our stay at Dock Bay Lodge made it even more so. We were there with our son and daughter-in-law and our hostess, Dawn, could not have made us feel more welcome or at home. The rooms are luxurious, the views stunning, and the breakfasts sumptuous! We found snacks and... More

This is a wonderful place not far from Te Anau. It backs on to the lake and has wonderful views at all times but certainly first thing in the morning with the mist still hanging there. We stayed in the Luxmore room and definitely worth spending a little more to stay here. The breakfast in the morning was great as... More

A great B&B located a couple of miles outside Te Anau. The setting is simply spectacular, with a view overlooking the golf course, and then the lake, with the mountains forming the background. The house is new and stunning, and our suite was large and well-appointed, with floor-to-ceiling windows and large balcony. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts... More

I had real good time in this luxorious house with very well equiped bedrooms. I enjoyed the amazing view on the lake Te Anau from any room of the house. Nice food for breakfast (especially the croissants!).The best hosts ever. I just loved it and wish I could stay longer. Merci a vous!

Mark and Dawn have a VERY luxurious 5 room lodge overlooking the lake. Beautifully furnished, it has an excellent location. Minutes to both the Kepler trail and the town of Te Anau. Extremely comfortable lodge, large rooms, excellent breakfasts, gracious hospitality, etc. The bonus is a cute little Jack Russell named Colin!
