Recently had a short break at the Hunter and booked an online special at the Mercure. The hotel is in a good location and close to the Hunter Valley Gardens complex and also Tempus Two and Mcguigan's cellars. Our room was spacious, the refurbished ensuite was lovely and quite modern with plenty of toiletries and towels. There was parking at... More

I stayed at Mercure Resort as part of a business trip. Apart from seeing clients, I was also checking the hotel out for a future business conference. I arrived at the restaurant at 9:00pm one night and was advised that no meals were available as the kitchen had shut down the equipment. The quick thinking waitress tried to book me... More

We had expected a fairly high standard for this hotel given the price we had to pay for the room. I was disappointed the minute I opened the door, the room smelled like a blocked drain and the bathroom was damaged. Our bed was two singles pushed together and a lot of the fittings were either damaged or uncared for.... More

My husband and I had a very refreshing stay at this hotel, The location is superb and within wak\lking distance of the Hunter Valley Gardens and Village. The ambience of the hotel is impressive with a wonderful library and fireplace where we sat for refreshments in the evening. We enjoyed lunch in the restaurant overlooking the terrace and the pool.... More

The Mecure Hunter Valley Gardens Hotel is well located for numerous wineries, Hunter Valley Gardens and other tourist activities. I attended the resort as a delegate at a large symposium and both the locality and attention to detail by the staff was excellent.

We stayed here over the october 2011 long weekend, and had high expectations. Unfortunately there was NOTHING redeeming about this place. We booked this for the balcony/terrace, which is advertised as a privater terrace. It is WIDE OPEN, with a path leading to a very public walkway. and the main road. Nothing like enoying a glass of wine from a... More

Reception warm if slightly inefficient: key was not registered correctly, requiring a second visit to reception. Room: furnishings adequate but tired. Carpet buckled, curtains off the hooks, headboard bolted to wall and dusty. Information book (loose-leaf) in bad shape, pages stained and crushed. Mini Bar price list missing. There is a mini-settee in the room. but it would have been... More
