The pros: * Good service * Modern and much newer than all on Nebo Rd * Wall separating bedroom (no door) from bath/living, so two Samsung TV's! * Mini-bar * Curtains nice and thick so they block out the light for sleep ins and privacy * Reasonably priced * Comfortable pillows (not just two) and lovely sheets on (firm) bed... The Coral Cay is the best motel I have stayed at in Mackay over a number of years. It is clean and comfortable and has all you need for a business trip or stopover.

Accommodation in Mackay is difficult to find being the booming mining town that it is. High quality accommodation is even more difficult to find. I am surprised at the mixed reports that I have read regarding the Coral Cay. I found the accommodation to be of a high standard. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant was a... This place is fine. I stayed there recently for work. It has nothing really to set it apart from the average, but its always a bonus to get a clean, comfortable room when on the road. The weather in Mackay means the air con is a must but I struggled to find a comfortable setting to battle the ever present... More

Rooms are large with a decent mini bar. Decor is becoming a little dated and the couch in our room had stains on it and the curtains are looking very tired. You can't complain about the service in the Resturant because there was barely any, we were lucky to get ONE drink served to us from the bar for the... More

Stayed one night, location is fine ( as on the main road into mackay) short drive into town. Rooms are spacious, bed was fine, rooms include basic mini bar and good size tv. Was fine for a stopover, no chance for a sleep in as most people leave early to go to work so reasonably noisy.

This motel is not a resort, it is a motel with a pool, gym and restaurant. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but there is nothing exceptional about the motel. Because mine people stay here be prepared to be woken up early with motors running, people talking and smoking and banging doors. It is too far to... More

We stayed here for one night. There was a loud transformer hum outside our room which finally shut down at midnight. The next door room decided to take a shower about 3.30AM which woke us because the plumbing was so noisy. Then another shower about 5am. It was expensive - AUD195 for a one room unit- kitchen and 4 beds... More
