I enjoy staying at the Burwood Manor on a regular basis. The pool is great during summer, and the spa and sauna in winter. These facilities are becoming rare extras at many motels. There is easy access to the clean and tidy rooms which have recently been updated with new carpet, lighting and good shower water pressure.

I stay in motels all around the central North Island on a monthly basis and have done so for over 35 years. This motel is always very clean, and the service is exceptional. I have no trouble recommending this motel to anybody who wants somewhere to stay in Wanganui.

I remember the "Wood Manors" being built in the late 80s early 90s around the country but never stayed in one. Although the rooms are large and all the facilities are provided this is a grim and depressing place. We chose to stay at burwood manor, after reading the AA guide once we had arrived in Wanganui. We paid $135 for one night in a luxury room.
