Whananaki DoC is a bit out of the way but well worth the drive as the campsite is right on the edge of Otamure Bay. There were sandy beaches and rocky headlands to explore and if you are into fishing or swimming this is a lovely spot. There were only a couple of other campers there in May. We loved it!
