We stayed only for a night. The location of the hotel is good- a big Countdown supermarket is just down the road. Rooms are fine though not fancy. Breakfast was good. Wireless is limited and only in the lobby. Staff was friendly.

I have stayed in alot of hotels throughout the world, and this is the worst. Very noisy hallway, echo is horrendous. Very small beds (meant to be queen but was less than double in my opinion). Very dated decor, needs updating. First time I have ever been forced to use ear plugs to sleep in my life. Big thumbs down.

We had booked 4 rooms at the Kingsgate hotel Graymouth. Lobby was nice, bar area good as well. Didnt use restaurant so i can't comment on that. Hotel it self needs a little work, out side needs to be re painted and rooms can to with and upgrade. Annette from front desk was very nice to us. Thank you Annette!... More

Poor street appeal, lots of repairs/modernisation needed. Ok, but I won't be rushing back there in a hurry.

We stayed one night at the Kingsgate in Greymouth. Never again. The reception and lobby area was very nice, upon exploring the bar and restaurant was also nice. But our two connecting rooms on the ground floor in the building opposite reception were terrible. There was a funny smell when you walked in the room and the bathroom was worse.... More

we had the misfortune of staying here on our tip from north to south of the south island of NZ. I have never in my life experienced such a shoddy, dilapidated, outdated and downright depressing hotel, especially one rated 3.5 stars! the ironic thing is that we stayed back in 2006, and reviews here as recently as this month paint... The rooms were a little on the shabby side, but very clean and tidy. The layout of the rooms was good, and the location good for the venues we were using. Definitely somewhere I would go back to.

Thank you for your feedback, we are aware that we are not a modern hotel, however do beleive that we can offer our guests clean, comfortable accommodation that will suit most budgets. We are centrally located only 300 metres from the rail station and will offer free transfer to the hotel if advised when making your reservation. More

we stay for one night after getting of the trans alpine train, entrance looked good but I think we were given rooms that had not been use for a while, my friends had to clean the toilet . I think the sheets had been on the bed for ages very creased and was very unsure at first if they had been... More

Convenient for the railway station (which is why we chose it having decided to break the journey on the TranzAlpine overnight rather than doing both directions in the one day). Very comfortable and looks a heck of a lot smarter than the rest of Greymouth which has a slightly run-down appearance. The room and the decor was good but the... More

This was booked as an overnighter and was OK. The rooms were clean but a bit tired looking. we ate in the main hotel and the food was good but a bit pricey. Not sure I'd book this one again.
