Not a lot going for Greymouth as a town, but this hotel on the outskirts was excellent. The room was good and had everything required. The restaurant was a good find (after searching Greymouth and finding nothing) and the meal was really good. My wife and I spent one night here as part of a three week tour of NZ. The package came with the hotels and itinerary chosen for us. So we saw lots of NZ hotels but can't comment on the value offered by individual sites. Sadly the Ashley Hotel was one of the poorest hotels we encountered on our travels.... More

I stay here regularly for business. The Ashley may not look like much from the outside, but I have found it a comfortable, friendly home away from home. Staff are fantastic, nothing is too much of a problem, and the food at the restaurant is surprisingly good. To top it all off the Ashley is very affordable.

A real find during a touring holiday. Room was good and well equipped with mini kitchen. The real find however was the restaurant. Pleasant bar staff for pre-dinner drink. Great choices on menu, and food that should have qualified for a Michelin star. Good service made this a memorable evening. Would certainly use again and recommend to friends.

There is nothing special about this hotel. A clean place to sleep and shower.

We weren't too sure what to expect (sorry Greymouth) but this place was fantastic. The unit was a great size, with a good kitchen and bedding, the front desk staff were helpful and pleasant and best of all there was a nice little bar and a fantastic restaurant.
