We loved our stay at the Nikau Lodge. Quentin and Jane couldn't do enough for us and it was nice to feel looked-after after a few nights of anonymous hotels. Quentin picked us up and dropped us off at the train station, and they helped us with our whale watching booking (which was rained off more than once). The views... More

We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We are happy to help out with tour bookings and our pick up service is complimentary. Our Eggs Benedict is popular, must be that special home-made sauce. More

We arrived at Kaikoura just for the day, and it was so beautiful we decided to stay the night. We were fortunate to stop at the isite in Kaikoura and ask for information/recommendations, and the first place they suggested was the Nikau Lodge. How lucky were we!?! The room was amazing and rate very reasonable. Homemade baking in our room,... More

This place is blessed with wonderful views of the sea and mountains. Jane and Quentin are very welcoming. Complimentary drinks including wine are available on the landing. It is easy to do the laundry (I popped mine in before breakfast, it was ready for pegging out after - you can use the drier if you wish; iron and board available... More

A brief overnight in Kaikoura was made by our stay in Nikau lodge. They hapilly accomodated the large group of us and all the rooms were stunning and comfortable. Pre dinner nibbles & drinks were delicious, and breakfast was absolutely superb, and a very welcoming atmostphere was also great. And the lovely warm spa was a great after-dinner relaxation!

Our group were fortunate enough to stay at Nikau Lodge. Jane and Quentin made us feel so incredibly welcome and accommodated us completely. We arrive later than thought, however they had a lovely pre-dinner drinks & nibbles (completely working with our dietary requirements) and even cooked up some fresh fish goujons! They showed us all elements of each room and... More

We only stayed one night but wished we could stay longer. Our hosts prepared pre-dinner drinks and nibbles for our large group, with homemade and local delicacies. The rooms are large and clean, with excellent views from the upstairs rooms. Bedding is comfortable and luxurious. Most importantly there has been nothing that our hosts cannot provide when asked. Breakfast was... More

I was lucky enough to get an upgrade to an upstairs room at Nikau Lodge and this made my stay unforgettable! The views of the mountains and ocean were amazing. The room was really lovely with a comfortable bed and clean amenities. Little additions added to my great stay here, like cookies on arrival, free wi-fi and beer and wine.... More

We arrived in Kaikoura at the end of a wet day, with clouds well down on the mountains, so it was a relief to be welcomed at Nikau Lodge and shown to a beautiful room overlooking the bay by our host Jane. I've never had my towels presented as swans before! The room was really well equiped and I had... More

Loved this small B&B! Jane and Quentin were amazing hosts, preparing great breakfast every morning! They were very attentive and considerate, giving us advice freely and run the lodge like one big family! And their dog adds to the charm! The rooms are clean, spacious and charming. The lodge is also very close to the city and walkable to all... More

Quentin and Jane were delightful and considerate hosts. The room was beautifully designed, super comfortable and very clean. It was a real pleasure staying in Nikau Lodge, from the excellent facilities such as comfortable beds, clean and pretty showers and free services, to the little touches like the towels folded as swans, special in-house soaps and the help that we... We are glad that you enjoyed staying in the Whale room. One of the best things about it is the brand new luxurious Super King bed. It can be split into two full sized single beds like we did for you and your mother. We enjoyed being part of the fantastic treat you and your family organized for her 60th... More
