What a huge disappointment. Small rooms and in need of a huge update. Pricing was outrageous - $360 per night. No redeeming features Mountainside meant that the hotel block was 100ft closer to the mountain - view of the parkade.

Over 20 years ago I stayed at the wrest point hotel. It's was of an ok standard then. When I opened the door to my room for the duration of a conference I thought I was having a flashback. Nothing had changed.

Our travel agent booked us into the Mountain Side motel part of the Wrest Point complex, apparently not realizing that these rooms come nowhere even close to the 4star minimum rating we had requested for room standard throughout our 3 week Australia package trip. Rooms are adequate and reasonably clean if this standard satisfies you, but it was not for... More

I've stayed in these rooms a few times, and they're are reasonable for the price. The rooms themselves are clean and tidy and appear quite modern, but the hotel itself is old and could do with a re-model. The main fault with the rooms is the gap under the doors, which means they can be quite noisy if the hotel... More

I was staying here for a conference and assumed I would have a tower room, as many of my colleagues did - no such luck! I was on the bottom floor of the Mountainside annex. The ceilings are very low, and it did feel dungeon-like after my previous accommodation in a heritage pub with high ceilings and water views, which... More

Do not book Mountain Side, stay in teh tower. Our room was down on teh lower leverl of the Mountain SIde which really are Motel rooms, we could see the walkway leading from teh building and we could smell the cigerette smoke from everyone standing out there smoking.. Room was clean and warm shower was hot and strong. Used the... More

Stayed in the Wrest Point Mountain Side for 3 nights. It is an annex building of the main Wrest Point Hotel / Casino connected with a footbridge. No lift for the Mountain Side Building. So if you stay on the 2/F, like me, you have to either take your luggage one storey up from the ground floor entrance or one... More

I have stayed several times at Wrest Point in the different types of rooms and believe the Mountain Side ones are the best value. You don't get great views from the window and be aware there are flights of stairs to access them (ie maybe not best option for elderly or disabled), but we only paid $105 for the night.... More

I stayed overnight in a mountain room as I was attending a conference at the Casino. I got a pretty cheap rate - $116 but it was a very average room. It smelt quite musty and I had to walk down two flights of stairs to get to it - no lift! The bathroom was something out of the 70's... More

I have stayed at Wrest Point on a number of occasions while on business and thought it best to finally write up a review! I would like to make clear that when traveling on business my organisation chooses where I stay in Tasmania. I can choose where I would like to stay for business outside of Tasmania. I had one...
