We stayed at the Clansman on our Honeymoon and the ambience of everything was superb. Exceedingly clean rooms and facilities plus a very comfortable bed and pillows which is a must when you are away from home. Presentation of our unit was excellent and very welcoming. Leigh and Maree Cameron are hosts that are very rare to come accross these... More

We stayed for two nights and felt very welcome by our hosts - nothing was a problem. The room was very clean and warm The bed was excellent. We would definitely stay again.

We recently stayed at the Clansman for 2 nights and can't recommend it highly enough. The unit we had was spotless and had every amenity, but the best was the helpfulness of Leigh, the proprietor. He invited us to bring our 'take-away' meal into the 'pub' area and had even laid a table for us. He printed off information and... More

If it weren't for the human welcome mat that greets you and heartily makes you feel at home, this establishment would barely qualify for a mediocre rating. Everything is old, dark, not terribly well maintained, including what could be attractive grounds. The proprietor's friendliness helps make these things borderline acceptable.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in a Studio unit which was first class, a good size room with a spotless kitchen and bathroom. This place even has an English style pup for guests only and a great place to have a quiet beer or a meal. The hosts Maree and Leigh could not have been more welcoming... More

We stayed for two nights over Easter 2010. The room was spotless and the owners could not have been more helpful, even offering to take our washing in from the line whilst we were out. Our only quibble was that we were in one of the smaller rooms and the outside table and chairs were a bit public ; a... More

I recently stayed at the Clansman which is near the city centre! The owners are very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are spotlessly clean. I would not think of staying anywhere else in Hastings! Thank you for a fantastic stay! See you again soon!

I cannot recommend The Clansman high enough! Maree and Leigh were consummate hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay. The room was spotless, service excellent and the one dinner we had was most enjoyable. Breakfast was much better than many others we had eaten in Hastings and was well presented. Pity the weather did not allow us to... More

My freinds and I traveled to Hastings from Australia to play golf at the nearby Cape Kidnappers. Our hosts at the motel recommended and booked a great restaurant and even drove us there the night of our arrival. In the morning we were cooked an excellent hearty New Zealand breakfast before we set off to Cape Kidnappers. Of course we... More
