Toilet block not cleaned regularly as rubbish in bins for 3 days. Toilets are dirty and smelly. Not much care taken to clean floor or hand basins. Rubbish full bins and not emptied so rubbish bags put beside bins. Swimming pool is not as picture taken and is old. Friendly staff. Could put some money back into property to tidy... More

Arrived on the 4th of June after a long drive. I called 2 days prior to confirm budget hotel style accommodation, all confirmed and ok at that time. Checked in on the 4th and given a "donga" style room in a block of 14 (or thereabouts) with very close neighbours. While ok, not what we booked or expected. Overall the... More

For outback standards this place was very good. Everything's a bit more laid back in the outback and you've got to expect more wear and tear given the climate. We are travelling with a dog and two children and this place was a really lovely break from being crowded in. The managers were really helpful and friendly. They feed the... More

Rooms are very basic but functional and clean. This is the outback after all, and Springvale offers an authentic outback experience. It is the location that is the winner – right on the Katherine River, with herds of kangaroos and wallabies and abundant bird life including a resident family of partridges. Don't miss the dinner croc cruise which takes you... More

Pretty ordinary place. Being a cheapskate i was attracted to the very low price but you definitely get what you pay for... The staff was friendly but the room was a disaster. We got 'upgraded' to a family room (room 34) and it was disgusting. There were two full bins outside by the room next door that really smelled and... More

I'm so happy to have slept here! Rooms may be poor but having the chance to stay in such a beautiful place so close to many kangaroos and wallabies wandering around is priceless! Definitely don't miss to come here.

After reading these reviews, I still stayed a night in a cabin twin room at this homestead. I do not regret it. Its quiet, peaceful and in an amazing spot on the river. There is so much wildlife and its a very pretty place to stay. The room was very basic but thats what we paid for and didn't expect... More

I reccomend this accomadation for those of you who like seeing nature in all its beauty. Freshwater croc lies on the riverbank, fuscia waterlillies on the creek, wallabies boxing while their little babies watch on, various birds meander around the grounds and wildlife flourishes. This place is so affordable. I dont wish to pay high tarriffs just because my room... More

Thank you for your reveiw. Its nice to find some positive feed back. Springvale has a beautiful bush setting, with lots of native wildlife and yes we do have a wild fresh water crocodile in our billabong. Elvis is around 2.2 metres long and loves having his photo taken. We also run a Crocodile night adventure tour down the Katherine... More

We stayed at the Homestead between Christmas and New Year 2011-2012 - sadly as former residents of Katherine on a return tour we were disappointed. It appeared to us that the rooms had not been cleaned since the 98 floods!! I know tourism is a major drawcard for the region and can only hope that the owners get their [--]... More

Thanks for reveiw. We are currently renovating our family rooms and a few of our double rooms. Again we do advertize as budget accommodation. Our rooms are very basic but always kept at a high standard of cleanliness. I look foward to seeing you again at Springvale Homestead and Im sure our improvements will be to your liking. More
