Small Hotel With Very Nice Rooms All With Kingsize Beds, Big Swimmingpool With A Grat Ocean View, Breakfast Served On The Terras, Possible To Rent Motor Qued For Easy Transport, Airline Pick Up
OMG I booked this hotel on some very last minute thing. It was supposed to be an ideal mini vacation. Finally my dream of seeing the whales in the bay of Samana was going to come true!!! We took Caribe >Tours bus from SantoDomingo We arrived at a depot in a Town called <Sanchez. There we called the hotel and we were informed that they were going to send a jeep to pick us up because it was the only way to go into the mountain. I was informed that they would charge us 2,000 <RD pesos abt 45 dollars to come get us. I was shocked because when we made the reservation we were informed that the pick up from the bus stop was a courtesy. So they told us it was going to take an hour and a half to come get us. Over the phone they said it was just 10 minutes. We decided to just take a cab from the bus depot which was charging us 1,500 RD. So we go up this mountain, and we finally arrive to a gas station. We called the hotel again and they were like oh we´ll come get u. We are 10 minutes away. So finally this big fat greasy looking serial killer white man from Holland arrives with a low budget looking female assistant who sounded haitian. . No ID , no hotel insignia NOthing.Very rude, very stanoffish, they didn´t even say hello. They actually seemed to be upset that we were there. LIKE IT WAS AN INCONVINIENCE!!!. So we get in this truck, and he veers off the main road, and I introduce myself. My daughter asks if he is the driver he responds very rudely that he is the OWNER!!!. so as we are driving we start asking questions abt the distance to the beach and the bay, and if there is anything to eat. He said we were 1 hour away from the beach , the only mode of transportation was his truck, and the only resatuarant was at the hotel. The girl starts to respond telling us we can call a motocab and he tells her to shut up. Suddenly I was scared. I was in a dark mountain with scary winding roads in the pitch black darkeness with these strangers that were being hostile totally un hospitable, I told him. Take me back to the main road. I dont want to go to your hotel. HE SAID NO!!! My daughter grabbed her bags from the back and I started to scream at him, letting him know that we were US citizens and that we were >Dominican born. I asked him if this was a kidnapping or was he holding us hostage. At that point he stopped the truck and told us to get out. he also screamed that he was going to charge my card for the night. My dtr and I walked about 10 meters and there was a lady on the side of the road. We told her what happened and she said that she had never heard of that place. WARNING WARNING BEWARE!!! It was a harrowing experience and we never even arrived to the place!!!. TRIP ADVISOR take this place off your website!! It gives a bad name to dominican tourism. Finally we jumped on motorcycles and they took us to an OASIS called las PALMERAS, 5 steps away from the beach, excellent food, super clean rooms and accesible to public transportation. It was the cutest most friendliest beach town. And it was just 5 minutes away from the main road. Everything that you can imagine in a small beach town in the Dominican Republic run by the locals. THANK YOU TO MY DOMINICAN PEOPLE.…

Stayed in Hotel Sabrina with my wife for 5 days. It is as pretty as the pictures suggest. However, the pictures don't show the three people who "run" the place, and who managed to spoil the experience for us quite a bit. In short, it felt like we were guests in a house where we were not really welcome. A typical situation: the manager/owner in the swimming pool (he was in the pool mornings afternoons and evenings) yelling things (often angrily) to his wife, while cheesy music is being played loudly. We tried to give hints the first evening that we didn't appreciate loud music in such a lovely quiet place. This was mistranslated into us wanting "more romantic music", and as tastefully as the place itself did look, there were no limits to how tasteless the music was. A personal point, but who likes Eurovision mixed with Celine Dion and Pachata? It is a very small hotel (perhaps too small), I only spotted three rooms, and there is a main building with a seating area which is continually monopolized by the staff. The main building is quite empty and, as a result, anything sounding from there (owner bossing his wife around, or "music" etc) can be heard even when you're inside your room. Some things we were happy about: a good new bed, a nicely designed interior, incredible views; if you rent a quad (55 USD per day :-( minimum) or some method of transport you can explore the nice beaches and places for food in the area. We escaped to Casa Coson (where the people were lovely) for lunch and beach most days and dinner in Las Terrenas (especially French restaurant La Terrace). In addition to the problems I already mentioned, we were ALSO NOT happy about: - NO AIRCONDITIONING (booking.com website states there is AC), it gets hot in the DR; - shower was broken (had to be held in your hand) and no solution was offered; - we were not warned about creditcard payment not being possible; - on top of the room price, a 10% service charge (for the room!) was added at check-out; - we had to go chasing cockroaches a couple times a day, one time one of them crawled out from underneath my pillow just before I went to sleep; - the beach was not as close as the 1 km suggests on the booking.com site, it took us a minimum of 20 minutes riding a quad on extremely poor roads. The info on booking.com has other misleading information (like the airco etc): it seems there are different rooms with more or less value due to ocean views, while all the rooms have identical views. Possibly this info will be updated (we complained about it to the hotel), but be warned. All in all, a pity for such a beauful place to be spoiled by the people who run it... if only the staff would be more professional and not dominate the place with their atmosphere-killing presence so much, it might have some potential.…
