The location of the inn was excellent, close to the water and in a nice residential area. The room I had was a little on the small side, but reasonable for a boutique-style inn. I appreciated that there was an excellent restaurant as part of the experience.

After driving the Ocean Road we found Port Fairy & the Merrijig Inn to be an excellent place to both stay & eat. Extremely friendly staff, very comfortable well provided room & superb food both for evening meal & breakfast. Port Fairy has great charm & interest - historical properties, river & beach side setting, walks & wildlife. Should have... More

Truly lovely stay in the well located, friendly and charming Merrijig Inn. We were met with a warm welcome, given clear directions to the highlights of Port Fairy. We stayed in one of the Queen Suites, which had a separate lounge as well as bedroom and shower room - all charmingly decorated. The house and gardens are also lovely -... More

I was a little worried having eaten here 12 months before hand under previous owners and reading reviews to suggest it had changed.. HOW WRONG THEY WERE! The merrijig was as fabulous as the first time round. The food was delicious and service spectacular. We were here on a work party, and they were more than happy to accommodate us... More

New owners always bring new ideas and the Merrijig Inn, one of the oldest inns in Victoria has been very lucky in its choice. They bring flair and quality food to this establishment. In the days when breakfast has become "HoHum", they do a great breakfast with fresh locally sourced ingredients and every day different. Only sorry the restaurant wasnt... More

Have just come back from a 2 day break at this wonderful old property. Its run by 3 women who are so welcoming and Tanya is an amazing chef/cook. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the garden and HUGE. It had windows that opened, which I liked and an old front door out into the garden. We had... More

A warm welcome and rustic charm will greet you! Room had all the usual amenities plus nice plush clean towels. Having stayed in several accommodations along the Great Ocean Road which weren't up to much this place was lovely. No kettle etc in room but there was a little kitchenette which guests could use and was fully stocked.

We overnighted in the Attic. It was just as we had imagined. It transported us back to the olden days but with all the modern touches and a comfortable bed. Dinner was fantastic. I had the lamb and my husband had the pork, which was preceded with Mt Zero olives and complimentary shots of cauliflower soup-delicious. Breakfast was fantastic too,... More

My wife and I escaped the city for a weekend, and stayed at the Merrijig. It has a simple charm and a great position near the historic wharf. The bed was comfortable, the room clean, the food well above average and the staff efficient and friendly. What more could we ask for?

My partner and I arrived at Merrijig Inn quite late in the evening and were greated with a very warm welcome. Even though their kitchen had closed for the evening they still prepared us an amazing dinner and set us up in their cosy lounge room next to the fire place. It couldnt have been more perfect. The rooms are... More
