This is, without mincing words, what is left of a splendid residence. Our room was exceptionally spacious and very comfortable, while the furnishings gave some hint of yesteryear. The owners were absent, but the ‘custodian’ (Margaret, a delightful Scottish lady) went out of her way to be helpful, and provided the most excellent breakfasts. Conveniently located a short walk from... More

We arrived after a long drive on a wet and chilly evening and found Norman House by chance. Bert welcomed us at the door and showed us our first floor room which was quaint and comfortable. He was also very helpful with local knowledge and restaurant recommendations within walking distance - the Mean Fiddler was very good and although expensive... More

On our long drive from Sydney to Perth we chose a variety of accommodation and in Albany it was Norman House because of its character as an early colonial home. We were not disappointed. Bert welcomed us at the door and took us to our very clean and well presented upstairs room. The cooked breakfasts were substantial and nicely prepared.... More

We wanted to explore the southern coast of WA and decided to stay in a B&B for the charm that it would offer. We chose Norman House and we were very pleased with our two night stay. We were greeted warmly by Sheila and then shown to our room. The room was very large and had an extra single bed... More

As stated in the heading I am perplexed about my stay compared to everyone else I can only say ours was disappointing. I can say straight off that there was one thing missing and that was Sheila maybe she is the key to Norman House. My first impression was Burts lack of people skills he opened the door with a... One press of the doorbell, and we were warmly welcomed by Shiela who showed us to our room. We were delighted with the warm and inviting decor and especially the antique furniture and matching fabrics. The room was large, superbly appointed with views out to the lush garden and the magnicient Magnolia Tree. The bed sheeting was of excellent quality... More

It proved to be a great decision to choose Norman House for our overnight stay in Albany. From the moment we checked in on Saturday afternoon to our departure after a delicious cooked breakfast the next morning we thoroughly enjoyed our time in this charming, historic and comfortable home. The rooms and facilities were first rate and Bert and Sheila... More

Stayed for 1 night January 2013, in room 2. First thoughts were the room was like an old aunt's house in the 1970s, everything rose printed, and the furniture and bathroom very dated. However, it was very clean, the sheets were good quality and we slept well. The breakfast was excellent and some good conversation was had. The lady of... More

Having stayed at Norman House in Albany a few months ago as part of a work trip, I promised the owners that I would return with my hubby for a longer stay, and we did. I asked for the same room that I stayed in the first time (Room 1) as I knew it to be large and comfortable. Event... More
