We had a 2 night Luxury escapes deal at this property with deluxe upgrade. Arrived on a rainy afternoon and parked near front door and headed in to reception and was asked to park down the hill so we left the bags and moved the car down as getting them up the slippery wet stairs in the rain wouldn't have been fun. The receptionist was friendly, gave us a dinner voucher (2 courses), 2 breakfast vouchers and 2 drink vouchers, a cheese platter voucher and a map of how to find the room.
We were disappointed that paying the extra for the "Deluxe" room with views, to find that it didn't even have "filtered views" of the lake as described. It was a wall of bush overlooking some abandoned raised garden beds below with absolutely no view. There was no view of the Glasshouse Mountains either, as described by Luxury Escapes. We later found the views were from the restaurant balcony mainly . The paths to the rooms were slippery with wet leaves and the balcony also was never swept during our stay. The shower was mouldy and had very bad water pressure. COVID was given as the reason for there being only cardboard coffee cups and disposable plastic wine glasses in the room. But real cups and glasses were used in the rest of the hotel. Go figure. The bed was the only redeeming feature of the room, even though it was only queen size it had nice linen.
Dinner was great at the onsite restaurant. The 2 course deal was only for main and dessert and you couldn't change to entree and main for instance. But the meals were very good. Really enjoyed the rare lamb rack/cutlets, perfectly cooked. Service was fine and didn't have to chase anyone but there was only about 5 tables taken that night. The room was very quiet at night and we slept well and relaxed in the room until the gardener showed up and blew the wet leaves off the ramp at about 7.30am. Breakfast was great with a good selection of hot and cold dishes and percolated coffee (barrista service for fresh coffee was charged extra). We went out for the morning and came back and had a walk around the hotel grounds which were surprisingly unkempt. We enjoyed the generous cheese platter and wine for dinner the second night. Breakfast on the day we left was very good too.
In summary the restaurant is worth a visit but the hotel room itself was very average and housekeeping needed to up their game to scrub the shower tiles and sweep the balconies.

My husband I have have just returned after a 2 night stay booked through luxury escapes and The Mercure is far from luxury.
Rooms are very basic and dated and not very appealing on arrival having to carry luggage up flights of stairs which needed a good clean.
I understand there is no buffet breakfast due to COVID but you only get to pick 1 dish and there is a charge of $4 for any item you want to add. Only filtered coffee is offered and and a cappuccino is extra. We asked for tea which came in a cup with milk already added so it was cold. Anywhere else we’ve been tea is served in a small pot and they give you a choice of cereal plus a choice for hot food and you can add 2 items then you can have any coffee and pastry.
The dinner menu was expensive so we never took the chance and went into Samford and had a great meal in the pub.
The only thing going for this hotel is the view.
We’ll certainly never return.

We really enjoyed our two night stay here. We took advantage of a deal voucher which included free breakfasts, bottle of wine and 25% off restaurant dining.
The outlook from our room offered a glimpse of the fantastic view but it was the driving around the magnificent countryside that makes this area so special.
Beds were comfy, very quiet and serene surroundings. Breakfasts were hot and fresh. Dinner was delicious. The restaurant itself interior furnishings lighting and carpets were reminiscent of dining in an RSL type atmosphere, albeit a little dated, but the waitress Charlotte deserves a special mention.. attentive, polite and extremely willing to please. She was delighted we loved her first attempt at making our expresso martini’s, so good we had a second round. Outside deck area offers amazing views. All in all a really enjoyable time was had. So thank you 👍

Husband and I stayed 2 nights celebrating our wedding anniversary. There were multiple others celebrating birthdays so this seems to be a popular place for celebrations. :)

We were in Room 17 which had a nice view and it was lovely. The bathroom had been refurbished and there was a brilliant rain shower and the power points were usb compatible, very modern!:) The only thing about our room and stay was it a bit noisy from kids by the pool and the neighbours beside who were chatting at the balcony till 11pm. Soundproofings not great unfortunately.

Staff were amazing, a special shout-out to Kerrie the beautiful lady at the reception and Amy, the amazing lady in the restaurant who makes the most delicious ice chocolate and lemon, lime and bitters. We had dinner one of the nights and was so hungry we ordered 4 dishes! The portions were on the smaller side but they are delicious.

Had a wonderful time and felt treated well as Accor silver members. Might request room 15, 2 rooms further away from the pool in future if I wanted to avoid the pool noises.

Nice welcome on arrival. Reception staff very friendly and efficient. The hotel is quite close to Brisbane and only took us a little over an hour and a half from the Gold Coast.

The room was nice, bed linen and renovated bathroom were clean . I booked a Standard room but as an Accor Plus Platinum Member I received an upgrade to a superior room as it had Robes and slippers and a nice view over towards the lake. Platinum gift was an extra 2 bottles of water - much appreciated.

The pool is lovely and big and there’s a tennis court although it was not swimming weather the day we were there.

The room could have been a little cleaner - there was a lot of dust around the curtains and on the bedside tables and the outdoor area wasn’t overly clean.

Mandy’s in the Mountain for dinner was nice but it is on the expensive side and not a huge menu. Luckily they accept the Accor Plus card for dining benefits so we received 50% off the food bill.

The breakfast at Mandy’s was a highlight. Lovely lady in charge of the buffet and Barista coffee is available for an extra charge. There was a large selection of items including some lovely fresh fruit. The rate I paid included breakfast and I think a lot of the rates include breakfast because of the remoteness of the hotel (nearest other food options would be around 10km away). Even though it’s close to Brisbane it’s a little out of the way .

A nice quiet night away and we enjoyed it. I have only given 3 stars because I think the room cleaning could be a little better.

Stayed here for a few days of r&r.
Very busy with heaps of weddings. Quite noisy due to late night revelry!
Views from restaurant balcony are superb to north and east.
Perfect spot for a drink or lunch.
Breakfast and dinner menu were simple but delicious. Note: ask for eggs made to order as the scrambled eggs and poached were cold, so was the potato cake.
Suggest you spend a few extra $ and get a room with dam views which are away from party noise.
Pool is huge and has a nice view over the dam. Unfortunately it needs maintenance (huge split along pool) and discoloured pool surround. Only a couple of seats next to pool. Certainly not welcoming but nice and cool on a hot day.
Room was small but adequate balcony same. Lovely view overlooking dam between the trees but garden below balcony was in terrible condition, overgrown and full of weeds.

Im not a person to leave a review let alone a bad one, but after this visit, I felt I needed to.

What was suppose to be a nice romantic getaway was anything but that.
Place is incredibly run down, with even worse service

Rooms are tired and unclean, mold on the curtains, stains on the pillows, walls cracked. Phone clearly hasn't ever been cleaned (very covid safe). This was deluxe room, can only imagine the filth in the others. Sadly the hotel premises was even worse, nothing is up kept. Pool wasn't cleaned and the grounds around was so dirty and not maintained at all. Tennis court was disgusting

Our meal experience was even worse.
First morning we arrived for breakfast, we had to change seats so we would be served as no one came. When we did order, one of the meals instead of pancakes, waffles arrived.
It took so long decided just to eat them. That night dinner.
For $45 pp for a main meal we expected our seasonal vegetables to be atleast cooked through, once meals are dropped off you don't see staff again until desserts, we told staff about our potato and other vegetables being raw, nothing was done
Breakfast the next morning was even worse. We were hopeful when not long after we sat someone came to take our order. Sadly she dropped off a bottle of water with no cups. Expecting them to return with our juice and cups for the water shortly after, we end up calling them over 30 minutes later to get them. After asking where our meals were 40min they arrived yet again being wrong. After a staff member apologised and rectified it (she was great by the way) we found a hair in the pancakes.

I understand things happen, but it's how issues are fixed that makes a business.
Really put a damper on the occasion. Wish we stayed elsewhere. Never again.

Sadly we couldn't post all our photos

This beautiful serene location emcompasses your inner soul. We arrived on 5pm, had amazing views as we sat on the veranda overlooking the vista of Samsonvale Lake and the ocean further northeast. Dinner was up there with any top notch Restaurant, and so was the breakfast the next morning. We travelled up to the Ocean View Winery for morning tea which was another gorgeous location, into Dayboro for a drink at the Pub then back home. That night we went to Eatons Hill Hotel for drinks and dinner, 10 mins drive and is another asset to this location to stay. Perhaps a Smart TV in the room would have added to the mix to complete a wonderful experience. Sarah in the Restaurant among Jilly made our stay outstanding. Such wonderful personalities made our stay even better. The employee on reception on checkout was very efficient, however I feel on arrival the employee could have provided us with a sheet of activities in and around the area, however due to COVID no compodiums are allowed in rooms. A good relax, great drives, beautiful countryside and we didnt even get to Samford - another time!

A wonderful venue to hold a crafting retreat for 22 females. The accommodation was very clean, the beds comfortable and views were beautiful. I was not aware of so many stairs to some of the rooms and that was difficult for a few of the more mature ladies and ones with mobility issues however we know for next time. The staff that need to be mentioned for exceptional customer service were Madsion, Tylah, Julian and Lolita and any request was immediately acted upon - thank you . The food was superb and although you cannot please everyone, again the staff accommodated us where they could. I was very happy with the room that was allocated to us during the day for crafting - just wish the WiFi was better however we are on top of a mountain. Just worth mentioning that when serving Steak, please give customers steak knives and make sure water jugs are already on the tables before they are seated. Otherwise, a fabulous weekend and we will be back next March!! Thank you to everyone :)

The staff are friendly and the resort is in a beautiful spot about 15 mins either way to Dayboro or Samford.
The Superior Double rooms are adequate but nothing special.
From the perspective of a consumer who wants to see these places not only maintain their existence but flourish, this resort desperately needs to improve their game in several areas.
Not sure if the onsite manager is woefully complacent or lacking in business acumen or has enough operating budget from Accor/ Mercure but the entire resort is a huge let down for members and needs a good clean and a fair bit of essential not ‘nice to have’ maintenance.
Dusty rooms & balconies, showers that leak water through the cubicle out along the grout all over the floor, no exhaust fan, rusty railings, dirty glass, cobwebs everywhere, broken chairs on the deck which is a safety hazard. We would have enjoyed a good steak at the onsite restaurant but at $52 each plus $10-$12 extra for vegetables was unreasonable, unacceptable and in stark contrast with the rest of the resort. Good gluten free options though but bring your prices down to a reasonable level and you will capture more clients.
I hope senior management of Accor see this post as someone needs a wake up call, better training or funding as it is a crying shame.

The pool is between 15 to 20m by my estimate. I have a picture taken now but it is night time at present. Will send it to TripAdvisor.

There is a fireplace in the main restaurant with just a small coffee table and one small lounge and two single chairs nearby. No snuggling right up close. Not sure if anywhere else. Too warm a winter in Brisbane to have lots. They do have it going in winter though.
