I got miserably sick and could not travel, so for 2 days:
I phoned the hotel MANY times with no answer.
I emailed the hotel with no answer.
I phoned booking.com, who phoned the hotel with no answer.
booking.com emailed the hotel with no answer.
They then counted me as a "no show" and charged me for the room.
