I don't know whether there is real choice of hotels in Opole, but Mercure is considerable option. Very good location, friendly staff and breakfast definitely more than average. The rooms were OK, nothing to complain about and nothing to particularly glorify.

Clean, spacious, well appointed room with excellent bathroom. Best breakfast we had during a month's trip through Poland. Right by the railway station and about 10 minutes walk to city centre. Staff friendly and helpful, particularly in the restaurant.

The staff are pleasant and professional, but the furnishings and supplies in the rooms are of very low quality, not what you'd expect at a Mercure - one staff member admitted that guests are always complaining about this. In particular, the towels, sheets and soap were like something out of the communist era.
