We arrived at this swish modern hotel with a lot of minimalist touches after a week elsewhere in Slovenia. The hotel is set in it's own grounds, unfortunately at the tourist end of Portoros so you are opposite the Bolony P ark children's centre. Whilst we were there on the first five nights there were never more than 10 for... More

This 4 star hotel needs a thorough revamp. The en-suite shower with jacuzzi, which didn't work, because all the outlets were full of dirt as was the plug outlet and the dirt had collected at the bottom of all the glass panels, but being fair, you didn't need to get in the shower as water was flowing thro' a light... This hotel is in a nice, quietish spot on the edge of Portoroz. Excellent facilities and room. But one almighty exception. The food is awful. A buffet always means poor quality in my experience but this was the worst I've experienced by a long way, even in 0 star hotels. The food was put out on the hot plates 20-30... More

We paid extra for a room with a sea view but there wasn't one. The hotel is built in its own gardens not a parkland. Some rooms face towards where the sea is but it is impossible to see. Our sea view room overlooked the swimming pool and other rooms faced inland towards another hotel. When we complained we were... More

We stayed one week at the Marita Hotel. It is located at the quieter end of Portoroz so no noise from bars etc. It is set back from the main road so you do not hear the traffic. There is both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. The outdoor one has plenty of sunloungers (although not very comfortable) and sun... More

Stayed in the main building of the hotel where room furniture design etc. is a bit quirky and not very practical for a hotel situation, watch out for your legs on the bed corners and your feet with some of the wardrobe doors. Cleaners could do with puting in a bit more effort, our balcony was not cleaned for the... More

We arrived in Portoroz without any accommodations reserved. The first hotel we found ended up being a great find. It was close to main attractions but not in the main part of town so it was not as busy with travelers. The hotel has two pools, one indoor which was definitely a plus as it rained the next day. Breakfast... More

I will chime in with other reviewers - we stayed here the first time in Feb 2009, when they were actually making a promo of this hotel - and it's very nice. We've stayed here twice this year, always (without prior reservation) in decently-sized rooms, without eating at the hotel (breakfast was certainly adequate). Rooms are fine (except the clothes-hangers),... More

Having read the previous reviews we were somewhat anxious about what we might encounter during a week’s stay at the end of August. I can only assume there has been a recent radical makeover as my wife and I along with her sister and brother-in-law and some friends have just had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. OK there...
