Great location, downtown Budapest. However, only suited for young low budget travelers.

When i went this hostal was the most creepy. If youre lookin for a "hostal-movie" vibe youre right.
The staff is all between nice to be very afraid.
I remembered i was lured in the streets by a couple of "striptease-bait"-girls.
They had a stripclub a couple a blocks down known for ripping tourists of. And evidently i am a...

The Hostel is very big with a lot of rooms. Pro's: super central location (near main shopping streets, river and subway), washing machines, internet and large rooms, helpful staff.
Cons: the shared bathrooms may not be enough if it's very full, bu we didn't have trouble. there is no elevator and there really isn't a common room to socialize.

This hostel was awful. Poor facilities, tiny kitchen for the amount of people there. The so called 'bar' was non-existent and was just an attic room with some terrible plastic chairs and one internet portal where you could not even sit down. Staff were generally very grumpy and looked like they didn't want to be there. We were charged 50...

Booked online and recieved a substantial discount. very large hostel right in the centre of budapest. the location really makes this hostel. Breakfast isn't included or offered at this hostel and the bar on the top floor is just a room with some seats. not the best hostel to meet other travellers as the hostel has just feels a little...

The young employees at check...

After a dismal experience in the Breaks hostel near Keleti train station we booked in here in a desperate attempt for something better for our last nigth in Budapest. Unfortunately the sweet feeling wore off quickly as we realised the place is only slightly less of a dump and we were now paying over 20 euros each for our triple...

I visited the hostel with my friend back in September 2006. This review is a bit delayed, but here it is. When we arrived we stayed in a hotel, with a view to booking a hostel for the remainder of the stay. Central Hostel booked us in for a further 3 nights- we specified a twin room only, but on...

Mellow Mood is a big hostel name in Budapest and they own several hostels and budget hotels. We chose the central hostel because of its fantastic location and because we wanted more of the hostel experience (chance to meet other travellers and socialize) rather than a budget hotel. We were not disappointed on the location, but we were disappointed on...
