This is an extraordinary hotel, a true 5-star experience. Rooms are not rooms but full apartments furnished with reproduction antiques. The building dates back to the 14 century and has been renovated and equipped to a very high standard. Grand rooms and public areas. Located on the Buda hill, the best location in Budapest near the castle and opposite the... More

We (2 adults and 2 small children) stayed for 2 nights at St. George. They gave us welcome drinks upon arrival on May 9. Unfortunately, they had no elevator/ lift and we stayed on the topmost floor. But they did help us with our 2 20kg luggages. The suite was very big - had a dining area complete with kitchen... More

If you love Prague you will love Budapest. Our hotel was on the Buda side and I liked it as it is quiet in the evening and the views of the city are great. We walked down and across the river but got the 16 bus back up from Deak Terrace. On the Buda side there are lots of nice... More

In April my friend and I spend 3 lovely days at the St. George. It is a small boutique hotel, and it is beautifully appointed. It has a lovely full breakfast in the cost of the room, and a bar and restuarant for lunch and dinner on site. It is very convenient to explore the Buda side of the city,... More

We stayed over the Easter bank holiday in this wonderful hotel, we were in room 14, which is a quiet room at the side of the hotel. The in-laws stayed in room 11. Both rooms were superb, room 11 had a jacuzzi bath, and our room have a large dining tab,e for drinks. We received a bottle of wine on... More

We stayed at the St. George in April and were extremely happy with our suite of rooms, the hospitality, and the dining room. The location is great -- up on the Buda hill, just a short walk from the castle and the Fisherman's Bastion and within easy reach of many restaurants as well as the bus. We got a palatial... More

Very good old style hotel, lots of character in the form of grand room sizes, huge pieces of furniture and oil paintings on the wall. A world away from standard international hotel but nothing shabby and bathrooms bang up to the minute. Quiet, set around a courtyard in a great location close by the main sights. Not much not to... We rented the Diamond Suite and it was absolutely perfect. Definitely ask Victoria to help you out when you need something special like flowers, cards, champagne or whatever you need to make your stay even more special or romantic. Victoria arranged all these things perfectly and she greeted us at arrival in the most friendly and professional way. The rooms... More

Original character hotel in the Buda Castle Quarter area of Budapest, Hungary. Attentive staff, clean and large rooms, free parking outside the hotel. If you have a car, use this hotel as it's so easy to get in and out what is restrictive parking area, but free for hotel visitors. Avoid dinning in the restaurant as it was lucking a... More

we we lucky to find this lovely place, having only lasted a night at an over-hyped, over-designed hotel in gloomy Pest. I thought we would end up being ripped off at one of the international chains but our guide recommended this hotel across the river in pretty Buda. Small, elegant, full of Hungarian character, fully renovated, spotlessly clean, and for... More
