The hotel is located a few streets to Szechenyi ter (Main Square) and the Gazi Kaszim Basha's Mosque. Also, it's within walking distance of maybe 5-10 minutes to St. Peter's Cathedral, Cella Septichora (4th Century early Christian graveyard), National Theatre and the Zsolnay ceramics museum. Stayed just the one night at the Hotel Fonix but it was a very nice hotel. The place gets a bit of a bagging from Lonely Planet books but is much better than they make out. Its central location make it good for exploring the town and there are plenty of eating and drinking places all within easy walking distance.... More

Staff here are great. Really friendly. However, the hotel seems to be geared towards conference and seemed surprised that we had booked there for 7 nights.
