The hotel management was rude and patronizing. I have never encountered such awful service. Unfriendly doesn't even describe the attitude. The restaurant service was abysmal, the waiter forgot my meal and couldn't find the grace to utter a simple apology.
The hotel manager locks up all the doors until check in time at 4pm (for which he was late) and...

We have just completed our stay at the Hotel Schutzen and really enjoyed our stay. We were lucky to have room 29 that had a balcony that overlooked five waterfalls. One of the mornings we were treated to parasailers jumping from the cliffs above and floating down to the valley floor!!! The rooms are a nice size and very clean....

We visited in the offseason, so I cannot rate the restaurant, but the hotel was very nice and well-maintained with a friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable and the location is very convenient, just a few minutes walk from the train and cable car stations in Lauterbrunnen and a few more minutes walk from Staubbach falls.
We stayed here because of its location to the mountains. We were lucky to be there in the off season and were given a room with a balcony and a view. That alone might have mde the entire stay almost perfect. There were some small issues. Our shower broke but we told the staff and they had it fixed quickly....

Walked into Hotel Schutzen without reservations during their off-season. They were very accommodating and quickly booked us a room and made sure we were able to eat in the restaurant before it closed. The food was delicious! Love the Rosti! The room was quaint and added to our Swiss experience. The best evening we had was bundling up and sitting...

We stayed at the Hotel Schutzen (four of us in two rooms) just after Christmas and loved it. The walk from the train station is brief (5-10 minutes) and the hotel is clearly marked as its on the main road. The receptionist situated us on the top floor in two rooms next to each other, which we appreciated. Both rooms...

My wife and I stayed here during a long weekend in the fall. The hotel is located in the beautiful Lauterbrunnen Valley, between Gimmelwald and the Jungfrau. It is a quick (5 min or less) walk to the train station that will connect you to Kleine Scheidegg, Interlaken, Grindelwald, and the Jungfraujoch. The staff was very friendly and eager to...

To be honest I had no idea what I was going to face at the Hotel Schützen. I searched through the internet to find a good priced hotel in Lauterbrunnen, I saw the photos of the hotel, I really liked them as well as the surrounding scenery on where it is situated. I started reading the comments of other visitors...
