We spent a pleasant evening at Akaroa Cottages - a cold May night that made us appreciate the woodstove and the ample supply of firewood (I'm a bit of a pyromaniac, anyway). Our cottage, an old weighbridge, was well equipped, although I wouldn't call it luxurious. These cottages only work for people with their own transport - it's a short... More

We spent 2 lovely nights here as part of our honeymoon, we have stayed here in the past so we knew what to expect - lovely veiws, quiet grounds with lots of native birds and the romantic little cottage. We had a great time over all staying here - its very close to Akaroa however you still need to drive... More

loved the website, and loved the location, about 2 minutes just outside of town. It's situated on a hillside so you can just make out the bay of Akaroa from our cabin window. No wireless in the cabins, but you can purchase it in the lobby.Very well appointed kichenette and cooking facilities. We stayed 2 nights, and it was just... More

Hi there not sure which cottage/unit you were in some have better views than others but 8/10 cottages have Sea/ harbour views, as we are in a gully and trees are everywhere sometimes wireless isn't available in all cottages this is something we are aware of and are always working on to make it better. This is a pretty beautiful property set amid hills just 5 minutes drive from the Akaroa towncenter. The cottages are beautifully done with comfortable furniture and well set up kitchens. The whole property is nicely landscaped and cottages are well covered around with greenry. We stayed at the cottages for 5 nights to start off our vacation and it was... More

Outstanding accommodation at the Akaroa Cottages. Fantastic location. Very well appointed. Excellent value for money. Lovely to be able to sit out on the balcony with a glass of wine and enjoy the magnificent view! Included kitchette and cooking facilities.

We only stayed for one night as we had limited time left on this trip, however I would say that Akaroa would definately warrant a 2-3 night stay as a minimum. The cottage itself was well positioned with excellent views from our terrace to the bay. The bedrooms were well furnished, and the kitchen adequate for a short stay. The... More

These cottages are beautiful places to stay. We have a treehouse cottage near the top and looking onto the sea. It wasnt a complete seaview as trees mainly covered the view. We went for a 6 month anniversary in mid-winter and it was perfect and warm and cosy. Came with a spa bath too. Breakfast was optional could be ordered... More

My wife and I found this place by complete accident. We had originally booked a Christchurch city centre hotel, but the earthquake struck a few days before we were due to arrive so we had to find another hotel. This was one of the four options still available anywhere near christchurch on hotel.com and we were so glad we found... More

We recently stayed in the treehouse cottage. It was homely and we loved the fireplace. Of course we made use of this. The bathroom came with a spa bath, mosituriser, shampoos and conditioner etc were also supplied. We had nothing to complain about, apart from the tv was probably in need of an upgrade. It's peaceful, the views are magnificent.... More

We stayed here for one night - 2 adults and one toddler, the cottage was lovely - set out of the way so our little boy could play putside without worrying about passing cars. The room was really lovely, had sky TV and all the amenties you could need - large Spa bath. The town isn't too far and would... More
