Our host at Artisits Inn Residence was charming and excellent company. This is a really first class place to stay while visiting Washington. The rooms and common areas are beautiful, well-maintained and exquisitely designed. I could not fault this visit, and I travel a lot. The location is really great also, as it is peaceful enough to walk at any... More

An architecturally very interesting building updated with virtually any amenity that you would be looking for. Good sized room (the Da Vinci) with fireplace, whirlpool tub, plasma TVs and a toilet that you have to see for yourself. Given the cost of hotels in good areas of DC while pricey it was worth the extra money. Lots of open common... More

A Bed and Breakfast is a gamble. 'Historic' can mean outdated, 'Quaint' can mean tiny and 'Charming' means it lacks modern conviences. The host might be difficult to find or around way too much. We took a risk and found a major reward in the Artists Inn Residence. The host is a practical perfectionist and his detailed touch is evident... More

We started looking at B&Bs when we saw the price of hotel rooms in DC. The home is 2 brownstones that were gutted and transformed into a retreat. Every detail was put into the remodel including an elevator to bring up your bags. The breakfast is casual and delicious with several options available. We had the Shakespeare room and there... More

The property is located in the heart of Dupont Circle. It's centrally located and very close to the Metro (subway) for ease of transport throughout DC. It's within walking distance to many great shops and restuarants. The property itself is impressive. It's been renovated with all the modern luxuries without losing its charming Bed and Breakfast feel. A wonderful art... More

Artists Inn Residence offers amazing rooms - spacious, nicely decorated (they have themes, but not in a kitschy or overpowering way) each with a spectacular bathroom, as well as gracious, relaxing public rooms (library and dining room), a computer for internet access, delicious breakfasts, and (a key item in DC summers) free bottled water. You get all of this at... More

Terence has a wonderful bed and breakfast in Washington, DC. It is an oasis of beauty and refinement. We stayed in the Leonardo Di Vinci room which reminded me a villa in the Tuscan region of Italy. The ceiling had the wood beams, and rustic appearance which was grand. There were flat screen televisions in the bedroom area as well... More

This was possibly the best B&B I've ever stayed in. I was expecting to arrive and find very typical B&B decor and a decent breakfast. What we found was way more than we expected. The owner recently renovated the rooms and created an art gallery on the main level which is a great touch. Each guest room is very different... More

I loved this property. The first floor is a private art gallery. The second floor has the public spaces - living room, library, kitchen and dining. Stunning. The 6 guest rooms are on the upper floors. I stayed in the DaVinci room. Heated terracotta floors, a stunning bathroom, antiques throughout. Every last detail showed care and was well thought out....
