The hotel was a unique boutique hotel, but it is far from family friendly as indicated on the website. Have stayed at all the Kimpton properties in DC, and the Helix consistently excels in all areas. Great customer service, fun and funky rooms, great bar and and bar food. Location good for tourists, business travelers alike.

Totally happy with my stay here. Cool, kitchy decor (yes other reviewer, it's meant to be!) and the place has a pulse. Walking distance to most of the parts of DC that I wanted to be near. My dog loved it too. :)
