Spent a few days here last week for a short vacation visit to DC. I just wanted to echo the reviews of others – 1) great location, close walk to the National Mall, within the George Washington University complex and almost next door to the White House. 2) Good value choice providing a clean suite with a small kitchenette, comfortable... Went to DC for sightseeing and chose State Plaza for its value and proximity to tourist attractions. Was a long walk to some sights but definitely doable. Loved having the full kitchen combined with convenience store next door to the hotel. Great for saving money if you're on a budget. Room was plain but spacious and clean. Friendly staff as... More

Spent 3 nights here last week and the rooms are masive! 2 king size beds, huge dresser with flat screen TV. The kitchen was a bit poor but did not go to Washington to cook. Nice vanity room and bathroom with shower and bath. The water could take a while to hot up but not a big problem. Housekeeping was... More

This was our third stay at the State Plaza for Memorial Day weekend. We keep choosing it because the apartment-style rooms are huge, the location is perfect for us as it is the closest hotel to the Vietnam Wall Memorial, the rooms are quite clean and the price is outstanding. I agree the furnishing are outdated, but what gets SP... More

We had a meeting at the WHO regional office of America and block booking was made for us. The hotel was clean, most receptions are nice except one guy with black curly short hair who does not allow anyone to have even 1 hr late check out while all other recptions listen to the reason for the request and tried... I chose this hotel because of its location right in the middle of George Washington University. I was there for my daughter's graduation, and the State Plaza was a perfect base of operations. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was large and very nice. Having a kitchen area with refrigerator was handy. One minor complaint: the... More

Great location wihtin walking distance to White House and even to Georgetown and J F Kennedy center. Large rooms, really nice and helpful personnel. The area is within George Washington University area, and there is not much reastaurants or other amusements during the evenings. (not for those who are more after lively nigth life). Again I had troubles with the... More

Stayed here for a long weekend get away in DC and was completely happy with the hotel and especially the Reservations Manager, Sherina Corbova. I had mistakenly booked at the hotel's sister hotel using Expedia and she was helpful way beyond the call of duty in getting the reservations changed to the State Plaza. I cannot say the same for... An excellent location, combined with competitive rates and pleasant, apartment-style rooms, make this a hotel I will return too. It is not luxurious but has all has all the basics one needs. There were some issues related to renovations currently being undertaken, but those should all be resolved as the work gets completed.

This hotel's greatest asset was its superb and convenient location, and its moderate price for the area. I would stay there again. But the hotel has a really bizarre layout with two entrances that are nearly identical at opposite ends of a very long corridor. When you are in one lobby, it looks just like the other, which is very... More
