Immediately upon entering we were welcomed with a smile, shown around and made to feel like family. Domesticated animals and dogs and birds were great. A very peaceful place. So quiet! Birds are nice to watch while waiting for breakfast. Breakfasts were fresh and tasty. The plethora of breakfast beverages never left us wanting. A decanter of port was available... More

This is a very beautiful B&B in a beautiful location. Chris and Molly are super hosts. We enjoyed the lovely sitting room and the thoughtful breakfasts. We were charmed to stay in the same rooms with Nathaniel Hawthorne first editions and his actual writing desk - a family heirloom.

It's not every day that you are offered such perfect relaxation. The setting, the fireplace in room, the kind hosts, the nearby nature hikes, the fabulous breakfast, and the nearby attractions are all in high competition for why this was such a nice place to stay. We had rain, we had shine, we had fog...all in a span of 2... More

We recently toured a portion of the California coast north of SF along US 1 and stayed primarily in B&Bs. Our very favorite of the entire trip was the Fensalden, and it will stay at the top of our list when we return to that area. We arrived late in the evening, having underestimated how long it takes to drive... More

We stayed in the Tower Room, which is separate from the main house and rooms. It was nice because it was very quiet, although it's right outside where the goats and ducks sleep, and the ducks get up early! It was great to have a small kitchen in the room. Chris and his wife were very friendly and by the... More

Fensalden Inn is a magical and welcoming bed and breakfast. Chris treated us like family and we felt quite at home. They were available to our needs, but not intrusive. Our room was lovely. We chose the Headlands on the ground floor. It had a private sitting porch, with views of the property and Pacific Ocean. Bedding I could sink... More

We learned quite a lot of history while staying at this historic inn overlooking the Pacifice. The inn itself dates back to the stagecoach days (but has all the modern conveniences) and the owner is a decendent of Nathaniel Harthorne. The rooms, expecially the Harthorne Suite, are very nice. The morning breakfast is an epicurian feast. Wonderful inn, wonderful owners.

Spent 4 days at this wonderfully rustic, quiet, and glorious place, staying in the Tower cabin, complete with full kitchen, two stories, fireplace with tons of wood for burning, and the best hosts ever! If you are expecting frills and cutesy, don't go here. But if you want peace and quiet, tons of stars at night, a view of meadows... More

Great place to stay. Breakfast is well made, gourmet, with lots of little ammenities to keep you satisfied. Went here for a honeymoon and had great service from the family who runs the inn. Great view and recommended for those who just want to get away.
