Seriously calling this place a spa or a resort is a laugh. The rooms are more Motel 6 than anything. Physical environment is old and deteriorating and poorly maintained. Hot water fluctuated hot-cold-scalding. no lounge. Restaurant barely open. Hotel staff gave an air of "resignation to being inadequate" ... Seriously disappointed.

We stayed there for NYE. The quality of the hotel wasn't as nice as we expected, I guess we were expecting that the name of "Resort & Spa" was going to bring more than what we got.
To provide more of a clear mental picture, the hotel was more of a Ramada Inn/Days Inn quality than a Hilton or Marriott....

The Catalina Canyon Resort & Spa had some really great acommodations. The hotel was very clean, the staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was great. It was my second time on Catalina Island and our first time to stay at this hotel. I rate it excellent for service and cleanilness.
