This is a lovely lodge, in a remote beautiful location. Loved the way the property is laid out through the jungle overlooking the epic view of the cliff and river. Know that it is a good 30 minute drive from town - slightly bumpy, but not as bad as people make it sound. Also, this is a jungle lodge, so... More

This place is extremely special. Lovely cabins with great views. Unbelievably good food served in their huge dining room overlooking the valley. We stayed here for 4 nights and did lots if excursions with them. The best we're horse riding, kayaking, night walk & bird watching. Carlos and Elvis the guides were amazingly knowledgable & enthusiastic. I particularly enjoyed the... More

We have stayed at the lodge for 4 nights and we had fabelous time. First of all it has the most beatiful view we ever seen and the staff & guests are lovely. The hotel encorouges interaction with other guests over dinner & we met new friends to travel with. The only downsides are the distance from the city and... More

Black Rock Lodge is a wonderful place to visit the interior Cayo District of Belize. The staff is very helpful, grounds are superb and rooms are very nice. We stayed for 4 nights here while in Belize, mostly looking for a good place to hike and view wildlife. It had been a little dry there before our arrival so the... More

We stayed at Black Rock Lodge for 4 nights in April 2013. The grounds and the rooms were beautiful. We stayed in the new rooms overlooking the river. Amazing views! The rooms were clean and although there is no a/c, it was comfortable at night with a fan. The food was very good, they seat you family style with different... More

We stayed at Black rock for 4 nights in April 2013. Our first impressions were not good!! We arrived early afternoon after a vert hot and bumpy 4 hour journey.....only to be met with a list of 'rules & regulations' on staying at Black Rock! No warm welcome. As we arrived early afternoon, we asked for lunch or a light... More

We stayed at Black Rock for 4 nights and can't say enough good things about it. The views from around the property are incredible - lots of flora and fauna and tons of wildlife (we saw toucans, hummingbirds, and lots of other birds every morning from our porch). The service is also above and beyond. To be fair, you're paying... More

Both my wife and I have agreed that this was the most stunning setting for a lodge. We only stayed for a night but managed to hike in the jungle, inner tube down the rapids, horse-riding and explore some un-excavated Mayan Ruins. The service was the best we have found from Mexico through to Honduras and are already planning a... More

I can't even begin to say enough about this place. The site and the grounds are stunning and the staff are warm, caring, and compassionate people who truly love their country and their heritage. The food is delicious and cooked with very fresh (grown on site) ingredients. Because it is very remote and hard to get to/from, you get to... More

We LOVE this eco resort. The food and service is EXCELLENT. The activities are too many to try them all. It is really important to spend money on the guides. Even bird watching or going on a canoe ride is enhanced with a guide b/c they know the area, the history and they can point things out to you that... More
