We left BRL about 2 weeks ago and can't stop thinking about it!!! We were in Belize celebrating our anniversary and my graduating medical schoool (we are 30) and really wanted to splurge on this trip. Despite the very affordable prices at BRL, it was by far the cheapest accommodation we had while in Belize, the resort truly out did... More

We had a change of plans and Black Rock was able to accommodate us last minute. The service/staff was amazing - kind, thoughtful, and friendly. The rooms were spacious and beautiful and the food was good. The location is a bit off the beaten path (approximately 45 minutes drive on an unpaved road before reaching the lodge) which is wonderful... More

Five of my friends and I visited the Black rock Lodge this past week and had a wonderful experience. As it was not the high season and the room was very reasonable. The facility appears rustic and the setting in the rain forest is spectacular. We each had our own cabin and all had queen-sized beds and the bathrooms were... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Black Rock from May 25 to 30th. It is in the jungle so it's around 2 hours from the airport and the road gets bumpy in spots. However, Elvis does an amazing job of spotting wildlife (birds, snakes, etc), pointing out good stores and patiently answering your questions. The time flew by. We... More

My wife and I stayed at Black Rock Lodge from 5/1/12 thru 5/6/12. Before booking, I researched the other lodges in the area. I finally settled on Black Rock. I was not disappointed. The location is the most remote and lush & that is what makes the location perfect! The lodge is simple yet beautiful at the same time. The... More

We stayed two nights on April 5th and April 6th and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had the waterfall deluxe cabin and added a single bed along with the king bed that came with the room. My 11 and 13 year olds and myself still had plenty of space. The king bed was huge and very comfortable. It was very... More

We, my wife and I, stayed at Black Rock at the end of February 2012. The accommodation in free-standing lodges is comfortable and private with outstanding positions overlooking river and jungle. The food was excellent, the staff helpful, friendly and very easy to deal with. We canoed, bird-watched and visited Xunantunich, Mayan ruins - which were outstanding. We would have... More

We had two river view cabins for our family. Both were large, clean and comfortable. The rooms were cool in the evening due the design and location. It felt like you were sleeping outside as all the jungle sounds of the night were crystal clear. This was a positive for us. Lots of birds and insects to see. Cool river... More

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Cameron and his lovely family have done an amazing job in hiring the best staff. All we had to do was let them know by early evening what we wanted to do the next day and they would organize everything for us. We went to Caracol with Carlos, hiking and canoeing with Elvis, and... Everything at Black Rock was absolutely perfect! We had someone from the lodge waiting for us at the airport to drive us to the lodge. Our room was very clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the river and mountains. The food was delicious!! Everything they cook is grown right on the property, so the food was always fresh....
