We were there for a week the first part of April, 2012. Sharon and Nigel greeted us and gave us the tour of the cottage and let us know how things worked. All the steps sort of worried me, because I'm a little clumsy, but the only thing I kept tripping over was the little lip going into the bathroom!... More

We stayed at Kumquat for a month, our second visit to San Ignacio. We chose it because of its convenient location to the center of town, shopping and restaurants, and riverside walks. Sharon and Nigel, property managers, were most helpful in orienting us to the cottage amenities and quirks, upon our arrival. Thereafter, they were always reachable by phone and... More

We stayed at this house for 4 nights and were happy with the rental. The care takers were very nice and informative. The Positives. 1)The garden is amazing and is why im giving it a 4. We spent most of our time when we were at the house either sleeping or sitting on the porch drinking beers looking out into... More

I think this place should be listed under Vacation Rentals, rather than Specialty Lodging or Hotels. We stayed at Kunquat Cottage for 12 nights while touring in the area. We chose it because we have dietary restrictions and needed a place with cooking facilities. There were few places of this type in San Ignacio to choose from. It was very... More

My daughter and I had a fabulous time during our recent visit to San Ignacio. The Kumquat Cottage was an excellent, reasonably priced, convenient choice for lodging. The architechtural design and decor of the cottage is creative and quirky. The gardens are a joy to explore. Bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. San Ignacio's dogs love... More

Lovely cottage with artsy-rustic look/feel. Don’t expect flashy, modern condo - just a homely, countryside dwelling with ALL necessary amenities for comfy stay. Best part is “care taker Ricky”. Great guy who provides all the help you could ask for. Fully equipped kitchen with a few basic spices, oil, sauces. Complimentary cell phone (‘top’ it up with card from grocery store) there for use.... This charming place is one of the best lodging values anywhere. It's spacious, attractive (photos don't do it justice), comfortable, and beautifully situated -- just a 3-minute walk to the center of San Ignacio, but it still seems quite secluded. The full kitchen, equipped with everything you might need, is a major bonus. Go to the market on Sat. morning,... More

We stayed at Kumquat Cottage for one week.a the start of a three week first-time trip to Belize. Kumquat is a truly unique home tucked in a green space setting in the city of San Ignacio. The cottage was a terriic homebase as we got acclimatized to the warm temps and the area. The cottage was as described, and safe... More

Warm, Creative, Accommodating, Unique, Romantic. These are words that come to mind in reflecting upon our most magical stay at Kumquat. The artist-driven cottage feels truly "of the earth," while being astoundingly comforting and cozy. Minutes walk from Mayan ruins, breathtaking jungle, and highly personable "downtown" San Ignacio. *not sure what's to do? Just call the wonderfully kind and charming... More

We were quite unhappy with our stay here. The screens in the windows are bent and ripped, and even though we kept the doors closed all day, mosquitoes were getting in. The owner's response: We were provided with a can of Fish to spray on any ant or mosquito we see. So how am I supposed to sleep at night?... More

This guest was perfectly happy until Saturday night at 8:35 she sent notified the manager indicating these things needed attention. Stores are closed on Sundays and she was told this, but the manager went around immediately to see what the problem was. By Monday morning everything was fixed: new shower head heater (even though it was working just fine, she... More
