I had previously stayed at Hotel Modelo which has fantastic service but very tiny rooms and I froze to death there. I was much more comfortable at Bonifaz. I selected a honeymoon suite because I was afraid the rooms would be small here as well. While I would never opt to stay here on any sort of a honeymoon, the... More

Apparently the best appointed hotel in Xela but in our experience it was no below standard. On the plus side the rooms were a good size and everything worked. The bed was reasonably comfortable. But choose your room carefully. The first night we had a room overlooking the central park and, although comfortable, we had a badly distubed night's sleep... More

I stayed only for a night. The hotel is in a great location, and has a free parking lot. Check-in was very quick and without any trouble. The Room was acceptable, very very clean. Has a Safebox, cable tv, hangers, etc. The bathrooms are very old, they are clean, but needs an upgrade definitely. I didn't like the cord which... More

Although we had the Pres's suite, the other rooms can be recommended as well, spacious and nice, a bit cool perhaps. What has been stunning was the service at the restaurant: despite large groups, it was very speedy, the reason: Father and son have been constantly checking that everything ran smoothly. That's the way it should be.

First we stayed in another hotel, but did not enjoy our stay there, so we came to Bonifaz without luggage to check the rooms. We asked whether the had a room available and if we could see it. We specificly asked for a quite room. We were shown a nice room, decided to take it and went to get our... More

Overall Bonifaz is NOT a good bargain. Pluses are location, ppol and parking ( if you have a car) Great location a few meters from the park but again there are much better options all within a few blocks. For Guatemala this 700Q (85USD) room is seriously overpriced. Like most Guatemalan (cheap) Hotels, they turn off the water heater during... More

This hotel is rather large in the scheme of things in Xela and even Guatemala as a whole, we prefer boutique or family run properties, we arrive in the evening and were tired and hungry so this place was obvious good choice. The rooms are a tad sparse and not a lot of charm, at least on the front, the... More

I ended up here on a business trip, and I was so dissapointed by my company's choice! The place has a good location right in front of the main Plaza, with some good restaurants near by. But the place is really cold and there should be some heating system there, I couldn't get any sleep!! Plus the walls are sooo... More

Overpriced, overpriced, overpriced. I have stayed in my share of dives and don't mind it but I do hate paying $80 for this one, it is worth less than $20. The carpeting is filthy, the TVs don't work and the room is straight out of a 1970's horror film. You can hear the parking attendants yelling all night (until 4AM!)... More
