The facilities, food, lodging, and people here were all perfectly decent. The big challenge that Deep Blue fights, and that is generic to all Utila dive shops, is that the vast majority of dive sites are wall dives that pretty much look the same. By the 3rd day I could have recited the standard wall dive dive briefing. Contrarily, we... More

We spent a week at CocoView on Roatan, then a week at Deep Blue on Utila, and we preferred the smaller scale of the resort and the far superior diving at Deep Blue. The resort is away from the noise and loud music of town, the owners and staff are friendly and fun and went out of their way to... More

The resort is small and very remote. That is the way we like it. Love to experience other cultures and meet locals. The resort has a great owner and staff. The rooms were a good size and clean. The food was good. We had the bonus of three shark professionals joining our dive week. We were able to locate five... More

Deep Blue is a resort that is only accessible by boat so it is much quieter than any resort located in the village. Our room was clean and comfortable, although the water pressure was poor if someone in the other rooms was taking a shower at the same time, but this is what you get given the remote location. The... I spent a week there all was great, room was always clean , food was good ,diving was exceptional, the only problem was being made uncomfortable with the owners(Steve) mother(Shirley)either standing behind the bar staring or just sitting there every night. everybody felt like they had to leave early and go to bed ,so this is what we all did.... Just spent a week at Deep Blue Resort and it was great. We hit a slow week but they did not cut back on the dives or the great meals. The north side is some of the best wall diving I've had and I have been diving for about 25b years.

This little gem was such a nice place to spend a diving holiday. The staff were extremely hospitable and there were fresh meals prepared daily. You had your choice between fish, vegetarian, and typically another meat. The non alcoholic drinks are in a fridge in the dining area and are purchased on the 'honor system.' You put a tally mark... It was a sort of family outing with my son, his wife and her sister and hubby just to see whale sharks. however, we didnt see any, but the resort was wonderful, food fantastic and the dive guides and boat captain were friendly and patient with all guests. they looked over us like "mother hens" - for which we were... We traveled to Utila in Feb 2012 with a total of 11 in our group. The resort hosts a max of 20 and only one other couple was there, making it a very personalized trip for us. The trip in was interesting, with standard commercial air to San Pedro Sula, then a local airline to Utila. Utila's airport is an... More
