My husband and I had just had a great get-away weekend in Athens, GA, and one of the nicest parts was staying for two nights out on The Colonels' horse farm, just 10 minutes from town. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in away from home. I went birding before Colonel Marc's excellent breakfast, served in...

My husband and I stayed for two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Colonel Marc was the ultimate host, welcoming and attentive, plus an excellent cook judging by the breakfasts he served each morning. The house and grounds were just like something you'd envision the 'old south' as being.. a large white columned antebellum house, landscaped lawns and...

Lovely room 7 grounds, great hosts and wonderful breakfast.
We stayed for two nights at The Colonel's. We arrived late and the Colonel was waiting for us with a recommendation for dinner nearby - DePalma's, it was delicious. Our room was cozy with a wonderful bed and luxurious linens. The grounds were so peaceful. The Colonel prepared a full breakfast each morning and they were delicious - especially the...

We absolutely loved it here. Very friendly welcome. Large, spacious rooms in southern surroundings. The colonel arranged dinnerreservations and cooked us the best breakfast ever! We also loved taking to him; he learned us a lot about the American people! We would love to return sometime!
Stayed here with my daughter while visiting her at UGa. The hosts, "Colonel Marc and Colonel Beth" were very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful setting just ten minutes from the university. Extremely comfortable beds, delicious breakfast. I will certainly return.
We needed a one night stay before moving on to the Great Smoky Mountains and Asheville, NC. What a great choice we made in staying at The Colonels. Wonderful hospitality and a well-appointed small mansion. Breakfast the next morning was just great. Colonel Marc was a superb host. Although we didn't need it, the property also includes stables and pastures...

Looking for a room on graduation weekend in Athens, Georgia is no treat, so we stumbled on The Colonels. It was a good move. Located in a modest farmhouse that over the last 150 years has morphed into a very respectable mansion, it couldn't have been nicer.
"The colonels", our hosts, combine European style with southern hospitality to good effect....

We stayed at the Colonels recently, and loved it! The setting is gorgeous, out in the countryside, with horses grazing nearby. The host and hostess were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and interesting. Rooms were perfect -- a mix of nice antiques and upscale, modern pieces. Soothing paint colors, nice amenities, gated, secure parking area. Breakfast was before a fire in the...
