We stayed at the Riad Assakina in March for 3 nights. It is a beautiful place that will certainly amaze you. The breakfasts are incredible - we looked forward to them everyday. The view from the terrace is perfect, it's an awesome place to spend a late afternoon or watch sunset. The rooms are all unique and have a touch... More

There are a lot of positives to take from this review, for which we thank the reviewer. The only things to note are as follows: 1. The changes to the price quoted were due to the fact that this guest kept changing the date and duration of his stay with us. 2. When the guest called from the airport he... More

Its amazing the difference good service can make to your experience. My wife booked a trip to Marrakech for us both. The Riad she picked was beautiful, the location could not have been much better and the suite we had was great but what made it really special were the owners, Grant and Michele. If you have ever been to... More

We have just returned from our third trip to Riad Assakina. We are a little bit hooked on the whole experience and are in the process of encouraging our friends to come with us next Spring! You can read all about the tranquility, elegance and the stunning oasis of calm in a crazy city that the Riad provides, in the... More

My husband and myself and our best friends stayed with Grant and Michele for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Almohad suite - beautiful and overlooking pool courtyard and our friends stayed in the Berber room - again beautiful ( i thought Sue was going to try and smuggle the soft furnishings out in her suitcase!) which opens up... We could not have had a better introduction to Morocco. Riad Assakina was simply marvellous. The Riad is situated in the Mellah District of the Medina, with many of the main places of interest within easy walking distance. The décor was quite simply stunning. Our favourite place was the roof terrace where we could observe the Storks feeding their young or... More

Only stayed here for two nights, but it was a lovely stay. Very friendly owners - we got upgraded to a suite for the first night, which was a very nice gesture - and excellent, very attentive staff, one of whom even walked us to a nearby restaurant the first night to make sure that we found our way there.... These 2 ladies, originally from Russia, booked through an agency which we had not used before. The agency chose to reserve for them our smallest room, and we barely saw them throughout their brief visit. They arrived late; left early; and in between were ushered from pre-arranged dinner to pre-arranged tour etc by their guide. We are glad that they... More

Imagine: An oasis of peace and tranquillity, your feet dipped into cool waters whilst the rest of your body basks in the warmth of the afternoon sunshine. A refreshing mint tea together with Moroccan pastries arrives at your side. The aroma of fresh mint perfumes the peaceful air around you and small birds flutter from branch to branch in the... More

Could not fault Riad Assakina. It is a beautiful oasis in the middle of the Medina, a chance to lock yourself away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech life. It is run by an English couple, Michelle and Grant, who treat you as friends and are always on hand to help or advise and the staff they employ are... More

We spent four wonderful days at the Riad Assakina. It had been highly recommended by a work colleague of my husband. Michele and Grant were great hosts, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. There are many glowing reviews on this forum for this wonderful Riad but quite simply there are 2 reasons why you should look no further and book your stay here today. If you are going to come to Marrakech you have to stay in a traditional Riad not one of the 5 star hotels in the french quarter that are... More
