Beautiful old world hotel in the most amazing setting. A real pitty that the reception and waitressing staff are not proficient in English. That does make a business stay a little complicated! Reasonable value for money.

We visited the golden tulip in july 2011, we were shocked when we realised that on a lot of the balconies the wood had rotted away so it would have been easy to fall through. we had to change rooms many times and all of the rooms had damp and mould in them.

A couple of years ago this was not a great place to stay but now the Golden Tulip is much improved. The room was great (it helped to be put into one of the suites) and the staff were very friendly, from the reception through to all the other parts of the hotel. I have stayed for two days in the hotel, and I find it fasinating how the view is, open sea views, and no mosquitos!!!! the rooms are bit old but they are clear and spacious, food is very good service is not excellent but it is very good and people are smiling at you all the time. Stayed for one night. Air conditioning in room stopped working after about an hour. Ironing board supplied was ancient and had holes in it. Restaurant was closed.
